Brief
Bangladesh is a land of beauty, and it is blessed with boundless natural wonders. Pukur Para Jhorna or Waterfall is just one such wonder. This country has several waterfalls scattered all around. The waterfall is located in the Bilaichhori Thana of Rangamati district. To reach the waterfall, you need to use the trekking routes from Bandarban. FYI, it is just few hundred meter from the Bandarban district’s border.
This waterfall is currently the widest waterfall from Bangladesh. It has a width of approximately 80 meters and a height of 4-6 feet on an average. During the rainy season, you will not be able to see any stones from the waterfall. The only thing visible is the cascade of water, fresh and beautiful. Some people call this place the “Niagara of Bangladesh”. If you walk alongside the stream, it takes around 40-50 minutes to reach at the bottom of the waterfall stream. Except during the rainy season, the path is in good condition, but during rainy season, it is advised to not walk that road as the slippery path is a serious life risk.
This waterfall starts from the water of Raikhong Canal and the water finally ends up in the great Kaptai Lake. Some people used to call this Raikhong River and in line with the name of the Canal/River, some people used to call this waterfall the Raikhong Waterfall. For your information, it is called Pukur Para Waterfall, because there is a village near the waterfall named Pukurpara.
Trekkers used to create a make-shift shelter at Pukur Para village and only visits the waterfall for a few hours. But if you make your trip a bit wisely, you can set few tents around the waterfall during summer or winter for nighttime camp out. There are numerous dry and clean places around the waterfall for your camping. Just imagine sleeping beside a waterfall at night; the sound of the rushing water, a full moon & a sky full of stars away from all the hustle and bustle of the city, absolute bliss.

Baklai Waterfall is possibly the tallest waterfall of Bangladesh. It has a height of around 380 feet. It is located near at the village Baklai, a village which is deep inside the Bandarban hills. To visit this waterfall, you need to have 5-7 days on hand based on your performance on the trek. It is accessible both from Thanchi and Ruma.
10/12 years back a group of enthusiastic travelers have traveled inside Bandarban and scoured the hills of Bandarban for more than a month. During that visit they discovered this Baklai waterfall from the top. They didn't watch it from the front/base. So they were not aware about the height of the waterfall.
Later on, DWay Expeditors have traveled a place near to the waterfall and only hearing the sound. Hearing the immense roaring sound of the waterfall from far couldn't refrain them to discover what it is actually which they later found out to be the massive Baklai Waterfall. And thus the waterfall came to the common knowledge of the public. Even today, very few travelers visit this waterfall due to the lack of awareness.

Hatu Bhanga Waterfall is nearby the beautiful Horinmara Kundo Waterfall. It is just a five to ten minutes of slow walking from there. Local says, this waterfall surroundings are too slippery, that’s why it is called Hatu Bhanga Waterfall. It has a noticeable height, but the waterfall only gets full of water during the rain.
