Brief

Moheskhali is an Island located by the coast of Cox’s Bazar. The area of island is 268 square kilometers. There are beautiful hills in the island. There are temples and Buddhist Pagodas to visit on the island as well as the shrine of Adinath. The fishing villages are good places to see how local fishermen live.

How to go

It takes 15 minutes to reach by speed boat and 30 minutes to reach by trawler to Moheskhali from Cox’s Bazar. Boats leave regularly.

Hatia Islands, cluster of islands situated in the Meghna estuary of the Padma River (Ganges [Ganga] River) delta, southeastern Bangladesh. The largest of these, South Hatia Island, is a low-lying land mass about 23 miles (37 km) long and 4–8 miles (6.5–13 km) wide. Only partially protected by embankments from sea incursions, it frequently is subject to cyclones and destructive ocean waves. To the north-west, another large island of the Hatia group divides the Meghna River into two arms, the Shahbazpur River to the west and the Hatia River to the east. Smaller islands of the group lie to the west of South Hatia Island in the Shahbazpur River. The larger of the Hatia Islands are connected by ferry with the mainland.

Dhal Char is an island located at the south of Bhola District in Bangladesh. It is a Union under Monpura Thana of Bhola. Dal Char is surrounded by the river Meghna. The east part of the island is decreasing day by day because of river bank erosion. The island is marked as one of the most vulnerable areas for natural disaster. The population is approximately 13000 of which 5000 are floating people and 1500 are households.
