In Comilla 4 schools participated in that programme but like all the time zila school was the “SHOW STEALER”. With the help of some experienced teachers, students represented the culture, archeology, tradition of Comilla by their rejuvenate presentation. At the same time, the students also rocked the cultural show of SHHEED ABU JAHEED AUDITORIUM.
For that programme, students were selected from different classes who made presentation on different topics related to the city Comilla. Students of CZS showed their both technical and marital skill. A cultural function was organized by the authority to add a new dimension to this programme. That programme was a joint venture of two rival schools COMILLA ZILLA SCHOOL and NAWAB FAIZUNNESA GOVT. GIRLS’ SCHOOL. Whole programme was anchored by the students from both institution. Audience were amazed to enjoy that types of function for the first time at the present of two different schools. Principals from three different schools of BRITAIN were the chief guests. And the honorable Headmaster along with two asst. Headmaster were the special guests. And all the teachers from both day and morning shifts were present at that function. The whole programme was a little contribution to establish a friendship among the students of two different country. Actually, it’s a part of modern globalization process by which students from every corner can have the same view and same knowledge. And as a part of that motto, the programme of Connection classroom was a huge success.

St Francis Xavier Girls High School is one of the best school for the girls of Old Dhaka. This school is located just beside the Gregory's school. Since it is a girl’s school, the entry may not be entertained by the school authority.
As this school remains close at Saturday as weekend, so you can take a chance to visit the school on holiday. This school was built at 1912 under the same board of the Gregory's school, but later on the board is separated, and now controlling by a different authority.
There are two main building inside the school premise. One is “U” shaped. Half of that building used for the kindergarten students, and rest of it for the school's girls as for hostel. The classroom building is “L” shaped and this one was built at 1993. This white colored white shaped building looks nice, and it has a basketball ground in front of it.
There is a small garden inside the school premise. You can easily find a statue of mother Merry who is holding the earth. This garden is profound with several flower plants and small fruit trees. Also at the other end of the ground, you will find a flat labyrinth which is nicely decorated.
The playground for the students is a bit smaller. Also one corner of the playground contains several instruments for the kids, like the seesaw, slipper etc. There is a small two stored building inside the school premise which almost looks like the brother house of the Gregory's school. It is actually used to keep the exam papers and other stuffs; just like a kind of store house.

Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur (Bengali: ঢাকা প্রকৌশল ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় Ḍhākā Prokoushol Ō Prayukti Bishshobiddalôe) or DUET is one of the reputed public university for the study of engineering in Bangladesh. The university offer four-year Bachelor degrees in Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Textile Engineering and Five-years Bachelor of Architecture. Only the Diploma in Engineering holders can avail themselves of enrolling here for Bachelor Degree in different branches of Engineering and Architecture. It is also one of the nine PhD granting research universities of Bangladesh.
Every year, around 540 students get enrolled in undergraduate programs to study engineering and architecture in this institution. In undergraduate admission test, only about top 10% students can get admitted among 5,000 selected candidates. The total number of teachers is about 300. The University has continued to expand over the last three decades. This includes the construction of new academic buildings, halls of residence.
The University originated in 1980 as College of Engineering at its temporary campus at Tejgaon, Dhaka under the University of Dhaka offering four years ' Bachelor degree in Civil, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical Engineering 'to help meet the growing need for advanced engineering education in Bangladesh. After a short span of time, College of Engineering is renamed as Dhaka Engineering College (DEC). Then the DEC shifted to its present permanent campus Gazipur City in 1983. DEC was converted to Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Dhaka as a degree awarding Institute by the government ordinance in 1986 to find solutions to various problems it had been facing since its inception. The journey of BIT, Dhaka was not also so smooth. It faced many problems and could overcame some of the problems faced by DEC. To alleviate this situation, from September 2003, Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur was created out of BIT, Dhaka. DUET has ultimately turned into an Institution, which can now boost its commitment to quality engineering education and has established a good reputation all over the world for the quality of its graduate.

At the end of the ground, you can see a monument which is a token of the commemoration for the 1952 language martyrs. It’s a small one, and black in color. From first look, it will give you a mix taste of the Shahid Minar and the Smriti Shoudho.

[post_content] => The need for an open university in Bangladesh was felt long ago. The history of distance education in Bangladesh dates back to 1956, when the Education Directorate was assigned with the responsibility for distribution of 200 radio receivers to educational institutions. This led to the creation of an Audio-Visual Cell, which was upgraded to Audio-Visual Education Centre in 1962. No further progress in distance education was made till 1971.
After Independence, Bangladesh faced the challenge of meeting the educational needs of mass people. To meet this challenge the necessity for a new mode of education was widely felt. As a sequel to that feeling, the School Broadcasting Pilot Project was launched in 1978. The project was transformed into National Institute of Educational Media and Technology (NIEMT) in 1983. NIEMT was later replaced by the Bangladesh Institute of Distance Education (BIDE) in 1985. Apart from producing audio-visual materials, BIDE offered the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program in distance mode. The success of BIDE encouraged policymakers to take up a major plan for establishing an open university. The plan became a reality in October 1992 when the Bangladesh Open University Act 1992 was passed in the Parliament.
