ইউরোপ, এশিয়া এবং মধ্য প্রাচ্যের নামকরা মসজিদগুলোর নকশা অনুকরনের প্রায় ২১ কোটি টাকা ব্যয় করে বরিশাল থেকে ২০ কিলোমিটার দূরে উজিরপুরে ১৬ ডিসেম্বর ২০০৩ তারিখে এই মসজিদটি নির্মাণ করেন জনাব শরফুদ্দিন আহমেদ সানটু। নয়নাভিরাম এই মসজিদটিতে ব্যাবহার করা হয়েছে উন্নমানের কাঁচ, ফ্রেম, এবং বোস স্পিকার, যেটির কারনে এই মসজিদের আজান বিশেষভাবে শ্রুতিমধুর হয়েছে। মসজিদটির বিশাল সীমানার মধ্যে আরও আছে মাদ্রাসা, ঈদগাহ, পুকুর এবং বাগান। এই মসজিদটির তত্ত্বাবধানে ৩০ জন কর্মচারী নিয়োজিত আছেন। মহিলাদের নামাজ আদায়ের জন্য আলাদা ব্যাবস্থা রয়েছে মসজিদটিতে।

Barisal is connected with Dhaka both by roads and rivers.

You can travel to Barisal district by road as well. Several buses drive from Gabtoli bus stand every hour to Barisal. Most of the buses go to Barisal by crossing Paturiya Ghat, but some of the bus services may also go by passing through Mawa Ghat.

Each bus leaves every hour from 6:00am until 10pm. The reaching point is Nokhullabad bus stand in Barisal and the journey may take 6 to 8 hours.

Launch is the most comfortable and relatively safe option to travel to Barisal district from Dhaka. Quite a few launches drive to Barisal district from Dhaka at Sadarghat terminal. Some of them have been listed below for your assistance.

মসজিদটি ঘুরে দেখা ছাড়াও মসজিদ কম্পাউনডে মনোরম প্রাকৃতিক পরিবেশে আপনি চমৎকার সময় কাটাতে পারেন কেননা এখানে আছে ফুল ও ফলের বাগান, পার্ক, পুকুর ও খাল ইত্যাদি।

Bibi Begni Mosque (বিবি বেগনীর মসজিদ) is located at the western side of the famous Shat Gombuj Mosque of Bagerhat. The department of archaeology has renovated the mosque thoroughly, but couldn't restore the vicinity area that is occupied by the local villagers these days. Bibi Begni Mosque is yet another traditional singled dome mosque from Bangladesh. The original history behind the mosque is unknown. Some people believe that Bibi Begni was one of the wives of Khan Jahan Ali, and some believe that she was a concubine (a mistress) of him. And also, they doubt whether it is really a mosque or a grave. Some scholars represent this type of edifice as a funerary mosque.

This is a single dome mosque having entrances at the three sides other than West. At the Eastern side of the mosque it has three gates, whereas the middle one is larger. And at Northern and Southern side of the wall it has single door each. These days only the door from Northern side remains open to enter inside. The dome atop of the mosque is having a regular shape of other contemporary mosques (of 15th century). The area around the mosque is occupied by the villagers and only a few portion remained around it. It is probably not a good idea to preserve antiquity in such a way. Government should free some spaces from around so that visitors can move around the mosque freely.

বাগেরহাটের বিখ্যাত ষাট গম্বুজ মসজিদের পশ্চিম দিকে বিবি বেগনীর মসজিদটি অবস্থিত। প্রত্নতত্ত্ব অধিদফতর মসজিদটির ব্যাপক মেরামতের কাজ করলেও স্থানীয়দের দখল করা মসজিদের এলাকা উদ্ধার করতে পারেনি। তারপরও বিবি বেগনীর মসজিদ বাংলাদেশের ঐতিহ্যবাহী একটি একগম্বুজ বিশিষ্ট মসজিদ। মসজিদের প্রকৃত ইতিহাস জানা না গেলেও স্থানীয়রা মনে করেন বিবি বেগনী ছিলেন খান জাহান আলীর একজন স্ত্রী আবার অনেকে মনে করেন তিনি ছিলেন খান জাহান আলীর একজন দাসী। এছাড়া এটি প্রকৃতপক্ষে একটি মসজিদ নাকি কবর এ ব্যাপারেও সন্দেহ রয়েছে। কোন কোন ইতিহাসবিদ এ জাতীয় স্থাপনাকে মাজার ভিত্তিক মসজিদ হিসেবে গণ্য করে থাকে।

একগম্বুজ বিশিষ্ট এই মসজিদের পশ্চিম দিক ব্যাতিত অন্য তিন দিকেই প্রবেশের ফটক রয়েছে। মসজিদের পূর্বদিকের তিনটি ফটকের মধ্যে মাঝেরটি বড়। এছাড়া এই মসজিদে উত্তর এবং দক্ষিন দিকের দেয়ালে একটি করে ফটক রয়েছে। তবে আজকাল শুধুমাত্র মসজিদের উত্তর দিকের ফটকটি মসজিদে প্রবেশের জন্য উন্মুক্ত রাখা হয়। বিবি বেগনীর মসজিদের গম্বুজটির আকার সমসাময়িক (১৫শ শতকের) অন্যান্য মসজিদের গম্বুজের মতই। মসজিদের আশেপাশের বেশীরভাগ এলাকাই গ্রামবাসীরা দখল করে নিয়েছে আর এভাবে মসজিদের প্রাচীনতা ধরে রাখা কঠিন। সরকারের উচিত মসজিদের আশেপাশের জায়গা দখলমুক্ত করা যাতে করে পর্যটকরা মসজিদের আশেপাশে ঘুরে বেড়াতে পারে।

During the regime of Sultan Hussain Shah, Choto Sona Mosque was built from 1493-1519. The 50 domes of the mosque were adorned with precious elements; so it was named as Choto Sona Mosque. It is perpetuated by the Department of Archeology and Museums, Government of Bangladesh. The adorned precious elements which were responsible for giving this name, are nonexistent now. The premise of the mosque is on an overall area of 42 m from east to west and 43.5 m from north to south. The mosque is located 3.5 km from Kotwali gate, 0.5 km to south of Mughal Tankhana complex in the quarter of Firozpur. The photo of this mosque is printed in our 20 taka note.

Korotia Zamindar Bari (করটিয়া জমিদার বাড়ি) is located at the Korotia of Tangail (করটিয়া, টাঙ্গাইল). The famous Zamindar (জমিদার) of Tangail, Wajed Ali Khan Panni (ওয়াজেদ আলী খান পান্নি) built that palace beside the Putia River (পুটিয়া নদী) at Korotia (করটিয়া). The whole Zamindar palace premise having 1000m x 500m dimension comprises of lot of old buildings and ponds.

The main gate of the building is currently locked and no outsiders are entertained to have an entry. So if you go there, make sure you can have an entry, or you have to return from there without visiting that archaic building. According to the local people, the palace is open for public at 1st and 12th boishak (বৈশাখ) of Bengali calendar, and the two Eid days.

Near the Zamindar Bari (জমিদার বাড়ি) an old mosque is available. The mosque is having eight domes in two rows. First row is having five equal sized smaller domes and the second one is having three domes where middle one is the largest. At the eastern side of the mosque, a 15 feet tall minaret is available with old stairs. I don't know the exact built date of the mosque. If you know, you can share as a comment at below.

টাঙ্গাইলের করটিয়ায় পুটিয়া নদীর পাশে ওয়াজেদ আলী খান পন্নী এই বিখ্যাত জমিদারবাড়িটি নির্মাণ করেন। ১০০০ মিটার x ৫০০ মিটার এলাকায় অবস্থিত জমিদারবাড়ির আশেপাশে বেশকিছু প্রাচীন ভবন ও পুকুর রয়েছে।

জমিদারবাড়ির মূল ফটকটি বর্তমানে তালাবদ্ধ রাখা হয় এবং বাইরের কাউকে এখানে ঢুকতে দেওয়া হয়না। তাই এই জমিদারবাড়িটি দেখতে গেলে নিশ্চিত করে যাওয়া উচিত যে আপনি ভিতরে ঢুকতে পারবেন। অন্যথায় এই ঐতিহাসিক স্থাপনাটি আপনাকে না দেখেই ফিরতে হবে। স্থানীয়দের কাছ থেকে জানা যায় যে, বাংলা বৈশাখ মাসের এক এবং বারো তারিখে ছাড়াও দুই ঈদের দিন জমিদারবাড়িটি জনসাধারণের জন্য উন্মুক্ত করে দেওয়া হয়।

জমিদারবাড়ির কাছেই রয়েছে একটি প্রাচীন মসজিদ। মসজিদটিতে দুই সারিতে আটটি গম্বুজ রয়েছে। প্রথম সারিতে পাঁচটি একই আকারের ছোট গম্বুজ রয়েছে এবং দ্বিতীয় সারির তিনটি গম্বুজের মধ্যে মাঝেরটি আকারে বড়। মসজিদের পূর্বদিকে পুরাতন সিঁড়ি বিশিষ্ট একটি ১৫ ফুট উঁচু মিনার রয়েছে। মসজিদটির নির্মাণের সময় সম্পর্কে জানা যায়নি।
