Hason Raja Museum is a folk museum located in Zindabazar which is a focal point of Sylhet main town. The house of the famous mystic poet Hason Raja is now the Museum of Rajas. It aims to preserve the history of rich Raja family and keep Hason Raja in center of attention. It inspires research on folk culture and history.
It is maintained and organized by the Educationist Dewan Talibur Raja Trust, named after the grandson of Dewan Hason Raja. The museum's mission is to preserve and share the rich history of the great Raja Family of Sylhet keeping the Zamindar and Mystic poet Dewan Hason Raja Chowdhury (1854–1922) in the center, and the folk literature, folk music and mystic poets of Sylhet Division. The museum promotes a greater public awareness of the rich cultural legacy of Sylhet. In pursuit of these goals, this museum collects archival materials related to Bangla folk literature, music and poets from the greater Sylhet region, and preserves these collections in a repository, open to the public.
The museum also encourages and facilitates research on folk literature and history. The results of this research are made available to the public through museum exhibits, publications and presentations. It was formally inaugurated on 30 June 2006 by thousands of folk loving people by playing "Ek Tara" (a folk musical instrument) together, which was a unique event of this kind.

The Liberation war museum (LWM) was established in 1996, to Honor the Bangladeshi people’s heroic struggle for democracy and national rights through the armed resistance against the Pakistan Army; after it had unleashed one of the worst genocides in history upon the people of then East Pakistan in the middle of night, 25 March 1971. The nine months long war led to the emergence of independent Bangladesh as a secular democratic state in December 1971. The museum bring to view the untold stories of courage and determination, victory and defiance, heroics and heartbreaks. It is run by a Board of Trustees with overwhelming support of all sections of people and is the outcome of citizen’s effort at all levels. It is now recognized-nationally and internationally, as a reliable and credible institution protecting the history of the emergence of Bangladesh.
Currently the Museum's collection boasts about 14000 objects that include rare photograph, documents, media coverage and materials used by freedom fighters and martyrs of the Liberation War. In 1999, the museum, with the assistance of Bangladesh Army, excavated two killing fields in Dhaka suburb and these human remains of 1971 genocide added a more real dimension to the displays in the museum. Due to space constraints in the rented premises, the museum can exhibit about 1300 objects. A plan to build to proper museum on its own land is on the cards and the museum should be housed in its own premises by 2014.
Liberation War Museum is outcome of citizen's effort and is run by a Board of Trustee. It is now recognized, nationally and internationally, as credible institution on history of Bangladesh independence. The museum through its special programmes endeavors to link history of liberation war with contemporary pressing social and human right issues. LWM is founder member of International Coalition of Historic Site Museum of Conscience and institutional member of American Association of Museums.
Visitors of the museum realize how through popular struggle and human sacrifices fundamental principles of democracy, secularism and nationalism of Bangladesh constitution (1972) evolved. Attempts have been taken through displays and regular programmes to create a living museum where visitor/participants can draw contemporary relevance for building national unity and a tolerant society against human rights abuses.

১৯৯৬ সালের ২২শে মার্চ উদ্বোধন হওয়া এই জাদুঘরে প্রায় দশ হাজারের অধিক নিদর্শন প্রদর্শিত হচ্ছে অথবা আর্কাইভে সংরক্ষিত আছে। বর্তমানে নিজস্ব জমিতে ঢাকার আগারগাঁও এ এই জাদুঘরের নিজস্ব ভবনের নির্মাণকাজ শেষ পর্যায়ে রয়েছে। জাদুঘরের নীচতলার গ্যালারিগুলো বাংলাদেশের প্রাচীন ইতিহাস থেকে শুরু করে অবিভক্ত বাংলায় ঘটে যাওয়া ইংরেজবিরোধী আন্দোলনের ঘটনাবলি নিয়ে সাজানো হয়েছে। এছাড়া জাদুঘরের বেশীরভাগ বিভাগই বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামের গৌরবোজ্জ্বল ইতিহাসকে ধারন করে আছে।
১৯৭১ সালের ২৫শে মার্চের কালরাত থেকে শুরু করে দীর্ঘ নয় মাস বর্বর পাকিস্তানী বাহিনী তৎকালীন পূর্ব পাকিস্তানের মুক্তিকামী জনগনের ওপর ইতিহাসের জঘন্যতম গণহত্যা সংঘটিত করেছিল। দীর্ঘ নয় মাসের সশস্ত্র সংগ্রাম শেষে এক সাগর রক্তের বিনিময়ে ১৯৭১ সালের ১৬ই ডিসেম্বর একটি ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ গণতান্ত্রিক দেশ হিসেবে বাংলাদেশের অভ্যুদয় ঘটে। গনতন্ত্র এবং স্বাধিকার আদায়ে এদেশের মানুষের অকুতভয় সশস্ত্র প্রতিরোধ এবং সংগ্রামকে চিরস্মরণীয় করে রাখতে ১৯৯৬ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠা করা হয় মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘর।
অজানা সাহস এবং প্রতিজ্ঞার ঘটনাবলির পাশাপাশি এই জাদুঘরে রয়েছে বিদ্রোহ, বিজয়, সাহসিকতা এবং বুকভাঙ্গা বেদনার মর্মস্পর্শী না বলা কথা। সমাজের সর্বস্তরের মানুষের সার্বিক সহযোগিতায় একটি বোর্ড অফ ট্রাস্টি এই জাদুঘরটি পরিচালনা করছে। বর্তমানে এই জাদুঘরটি বাংলাদেশের অভ্যুদয়ের ইতিহাস সংরক্ষণের ক্ষেত্রে জাতীয় এবং আন্তর্জাতিকভাবে একটি নির্ভরযোগ্য প্রতিষ্ঠানে পরিনত হয়েছে।
বর্তমানে মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘরের সংগ্রহে প্রায় ১৪০০০ সংগ্রহ রয়েছে। এসবের মধ্যে আছেঃ দুর্লভ ছবি, কাগজ পত্র, দেশী বিদেশী সংবাদপত্রে প্রকাশিত মুক্তিযুদ্ধের সংবাদ, মুক্তিযোদ্ধা এবং মুক্তিযুদ্ধে শহীদদের ব্যবহার করা বিভিন্ন জিনিসপত্র এবং যুদ্ধাস্ত্র। ১৯৯৯ সালে বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর সহযোগিতায় মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘর ঢাকার অদুরে দুটি বধ্যভূমি খনন করে এবং সেখান থেকে আবিষ্কৃত হয় গণহত্যার শিকার শহীদদের দেহাবশেষ এবং ব্যবহার করা বিভিন্ন সামগ্রী। এসকল দেহাবশেষ এবং ব্যবহার করা সামগ্রী প্রদর্শনীর মাধ্যমে জাদুঘরটি মুক্তিযুদ্ধের ইতিহাসকে জীবন্ত রূপ দান করেছে। তবে ভাড়া করা ভবনে জায়গার স্বল্পতার কারনে মাত্র ১৩০০ টি সংগ্রহ প্রদর্শিত হচ্ছে। তবে, অতি শীঘ্রই মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘর ঢাকার আগারগাঁও এ নিজস্ব জমিতে নির্মিত নিজস্ব ভবন থেকে আরও বড় পরিসরে কার্যক্রম শুরু করতে যাচ্ছে।
মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘর বিশেষ বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে মুক্তিযুদ্ধের ইতিহাসকে সমসাময়িক বিভিন্ন আলোচিত সামাজিক এবং মানবাধিকারমূলক ঘটনার সাথে সম্পৃক্ত করে নতুন প্রজন্মের সামনে তুলে ধরার চেষ্টা করে চলেছে। মুক্তিযুদ্ধ জাদুঘর আমেরিকান এসোসিয়েশন অফ মিউজিয়ামের সদস্য ছাড়াও ইন্টারন্যাশনাল কোয়ালিশন অফ হিসটোরিক সাইট মিউজিয়াম অফ কনশেন্স এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সদস্য।
এই জাদুঘরে আগত দর্শনার্থীরা অনুধাবন করতে পারেন কতটা ত্যাগের মাধ্যমে এদেশে গনতন্ত্র, ধর্মনিরপেক্ষতা, এবং জাতীয়তাবাদের মৌলিক নীতিগুলোকে সংবিধানের মাধ্যমে অধিস্তিত করা হয়েছে। বিভিন্ন প্রদর্শনী এবং অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে একটি জীবন্ত জাদুঘর প্রতিষ্ঠার চেষ্টা করা হচ্ছে যাতে করে এখানে আগত দর্শনার্থীরা জাতীয় ঐক্য সৃষ্টির পাশাপাশি মানবাধিকার লঙ্ঘনের ব্যাপারে সমাজে সচেতনতার সৃষ্টি করতে পারে।

Jasim Uddin is the famous poet from Bangladesh, especially for his dedication to write poems about the folklore culture. He is the only poet from the country whose poems depicts the beauty of the villages and people of villages. The house of our beloved poet is situated by the river "Kumar". The river itself is an enchanting for its beauty and environment. Inside the house premise, you'll find the grave of the poet (actually a family grave for poet's family).
To enter inside the house premise, you'll require 5 taka per person. Inside the premise, you can see some used objects of the poet, for example camera, plates, bed, chair, some photos etc. You'll find lots of quotes from the poet (some from speech, some from poem, and some from story). You'll love to read those from there. Especially the ones those were at your text book during your childhood education.
At the outside of the house premise, it’s a nice picnic spot. Lots of visitors used to come to this place to pass the afternoon. The river, and the field beside the river is lovely for enjoying the beauty of the sunset. The large field beside the river is now a playing ground for the local people. They used to pass their afternoon using playing football or other local plays there. It’s also a lovely scene where kids are playing. For visitors, there are benches to sit, under sheds.
During the 1st January to 18th January, there used to be a Mela (Fair) at this ground by the name of the Poet. But the Mela unofficially used to extend for another 2 days. So the total duration is 20 days.

আমাদের লোকসংস্কৃতির উপর কবিতা রচনার জন্য কবি জসীমউদ্দিন খ্যাতি অর্জন করেন। বাংলাদেশে তিনিই একমাত্র কবি যার কবিতায় এদেশের গ্রামের সৌন্দর্য এবং গ্রামের মানুষের জীবনযাত্রা নিখুতভাবে উঠে এসেছে।
আমাদের সকলের প্রিয় এই কবির বাসভবন কুমার নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত। চমৎকার সৌন্দর্য এবং তার চারপাশের মনোরম পরিবেশের কারনে এই নদীটির আলাদা খ্যাতি আছে। বাসার অভ্যন্তরে পারিবারিক কবরস্থানে কবির কবর রয়েছে। কবি জসীমউদ্দিনের বাসায় ঢুকতে আপনাকে পাঁচ টাকা প্রবেশমূল্য দিতে হবে। এখানে আপনি কবির ব্যবহার করা বিভিন্ন জিনিসপত্র দেখতে পাবেন যেমনঃ ক্যামেরা, প্লেট, চেয়ার, খাট, কিছু ছবি ইত্যাদি।
এছাড়া এখানে বিভিন্ন ভাষণ, কবিতা এবং গল্প থেকে কবির নিজস্ব উক্তি দেখতে পাবেন। এসব উক্তির কিছু কিছু আমরা আমাদের পাঠ্য পুস্তকে পড়ে এসেছি তাই এসব পড়ে আপনি আপনার ছেলেবেলায় হারিয়ে যাবেন। কবির বাসার বাইরে একটি চমৎকার পিকনিক স্পট রয়েছে যেখানে বিকালবেলা মানুষজনের সমাগম ঘটে। এখানকার নদী এবং ধানক্ষেত ঘেরা পরিবেশে সূর্যাস্তের অপরূপ দৃশ্য উপভোগ করতে পারবেন।
এখানে নদীর পাশেই অবস্থিত বিশাল মাঠটিতে স্থানীয়রা খেলাধুলা করে থাকে। ছোট বাচ্চাদের ছোটাছুটি দেখে হয়তো আপনি শৈশবে হারিয়ে যাবেন। দর্শনার্থীদের বসার জন্য মাঠের পাশে পৃথক শেডের ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে। প্রতিবছর জানুয়ারি মাসের ১ তারিখ থেকে ১৮ তারিখ এই মাঠে কবির নামে একটি মেলার আয়োজন করা হয়ে থাকে। তবে স্থানীয়দের অনুরোধে মেলার মেয়াদ দুইদিন বৃদ্ধি করা হয়ে থাকে।

Currency Museum is located at Mirpur beside Bangladesh Bank Training Academy. This project is taken regarding the enlargement of the currency museum into money museum. The country’s eminent artists, architects and historians have worked together for the museum along with the central bank to make it launch.
Museum authority has collected local and foreign coins and banknotes in different ways to enrich this museum. The museum has now thousands of coins and notes from the Pala, Sena, Gupta, Sultani, Mughal and British periods. About 2500 coins and notes found in Wari-Bateshwar of Narsingdi will be reserved in this Museum. Bangladesh Numismatic Collectors’ Society handed over 100 coins of different eras to the Currency Museum of Bangladesh Bank.
The historically significant deposited coins included 48 of the Alauddin Hossain Shah era, 29 of Nasiruddin Nusrat Shah, four of Shamsuddin Ilyas Shah, five of Sikandar Shah, three of Giasuddin Azam Shah, three of Rukunuddin Barbak Shah, two of Nasiruddin Mahmud, one of Mahmud Shah, one of Shahjahan, two of Badsha Alamgir , one of Islam Shah and one of the Shah Alam era.
A museum, first of its kind in Bangladesh, will help young people to know about the currency’s history and its evolution. Not only the history of Money, this museum will also help people to get acquainted with the lifestyle, education, culture and various aspects of archaeological evolution of human civilization through coins and currencies of different eras.
It showcases coins and banknotes, which are witnesses to history, to uphold the history and heritage before the present and future generations. Efforts are already on to collect old coins and install digital signage, touch screens, LCD monitors etc to equip the ‘Taka Museum’ into a modern, prosperous, state of the art, rich in information and technology-based museum.It has been established with modern technology to attract visitors.
The Governor, Expressed his appreciation in people of the society who are coming forward to enrich the collections of the Taka Museum of the bank, Dr Atiur Rahman said those institutions and individuals who would handover old coins as presents to the museum would be gladly accepted and the presenters would be properly recognized.
Background History: A currency museum was set up in the Bangladesh Bank in 2009, which was displaying currencies of almost all countries of the world. Initiatives had been taken to expand this museum to open the 'Taka Jadhughar’. At the end, the central bank's existing currency museum is being restructured as the 'Taka Jadughar'. The restructuring of the 'Taka Jadhughar' took place on the premises of Bangladesh Bank Training Institute at Mirpur. Along with this, the central bank is collecting obsolete coins and banknotes to exhibit in the gallery.
