Near to the Sahasradhara falls, according to the local people, there is another spot named “Hatir Pahar” or “The Mountain of elephant”. Actually it’s a mountain at far side, which looks like an elephant that is why local people have given such a name.

How to go

You need to reach Sitakunda, Shohosrodhara Falls first which is located in Sitakunda Echo Park. This eco park is just beside the Comilla-Chittagong Highway. It’s just 37 kilometer apart from Chittagong town, and 1 kilometer away from Shitakunda bazar. You can have taxi, or CNG auto rickshaw, or bus, or train to reach that place. For train, collect the timetable of train. You can return from Sitakunda at 7:30 using at train.

You can hire a CNG auto rickshaw, and it cost 270 taka from Chittagong to Sitakunda, and it cost 260 from Chittagong to Sitakunda. When returning from the echo park, you have to go to Shitakunda bazar first, there you’ll have plenty of CNG.

Dhaka and Chittagong are linked by road. You can take a bus from Dhaka to reach the district of Chittagong. Some of the bus services are listed below for our assistance.

Chandranath hill is the right place for those who likes Climbing. The small hill group of Chandranath starts from Bichkunda. On the way to Chandranath hill you will see some of the religious places of Hindus religion. This area is full of various kinds of trees, flora and fauna. Here you can see the gardens of Guava, Mango, Betel-nut etc. Here has some tribe people called Tipra and a tribe village. It is easy to climb up by the hilly way and climb down by the stairs way. The hills are looking very glamorous at rainy season, because of rain fall the trees and hills looks very fresh. But it is very dangerous to climb up the hill at rainy season.

The Batali Hill is the highest hill within the Chittagong Metropolitan area. From the peak of the Batali Hill, one can have a bird’s eye view of the city. A large number of people ascends to the top of the hill to fill their lungs with fresh air and to enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the sunset in the Bay of Bengal.

Batali Hill is the highest hill in the city of Chittagong, Bangladesh. It is located near the Tiger Pass crossing, about 1 kilometer from the center of the city, and falls under the Pahartoli Thana.

The hill is about 280 feet high. However, the hill faces threats of erosion and landslides due to illegal hill-cutting activities. In June, 2007, a massive landslide in the area surrounding Batali Hill killed at least 128 people.

Foy's Lake, the largest man-made lake in Chittagong, is situated next to the hill. There is also an Eternal Flame ("Shikha Onirban") commemorating the Bangladesh Liberation War martyrs.

Alutila Hill Cave is a 150 meter long and very attractive tourist spot in Bangladesh. It is surrounded by deep green forest. This cave is approximately 100 meters long and very dark. It is often considered as the mysterious beauty of Alutila hill. If you are brave and an adventure lover, then this is a perfect spot to conquer. আলুটিলা পাহাড়ের গুহা (প্রায় ১৫০ ফুট লম্বা) বাংলাদেশের একটি অন্যতম আকর্ষণীয় পর্যটন কেন্দ্র। ঘন সবুজ জঙ্গলে ঢাকা রহস্য ঘেরা এই অন্ধকার গুহাটি আলুটিলা পাহাড়ের প্রধান আকর্ষণ। আপনি সাহসী হয়ে থাকলে এই গুহাটির ভেতরে ঢুকতে পারেন। গুহাটি সম্পূর্ণ নিরাপদ এবং ঝুঁকিমুক্ত। গুহাটির এক প্রান্ত থেকে অন্য প্রান্তে যেতে প্রায় ১৫ মিনিট সময় লাগবে। গুহাটি অতিক্রমের সময় ঠাণ্ডা পানি আপনার পা স্পর্শ করবে। আলুটিলা পাহাড়ের উপর থেকে আপনি খাগড়াছড়ি শহরকে দেখতে পাবেন। এই স্থানটি একটি চমৎকার পিকনিক স্পটও বটে।
