Kodla Math Temple was built by a Brahman in the 17th century, but is not standing the test of time very well. It’s near a village named Ayodhya, about 10 km or so north of Bagerhat. This is a Hindu Moth (though it doesn’t look like a regular Hindu temple) locally known as Kodla Moth as it is located at the village Kodola. It has another name, which is Ojodhdhar Moth. May be the correct spelling can be Ayodhyar Moth. It is a tall structure that has a square shaped base. Approximate height of the Moth is slightly above the 18 meters.
It has three gates at the three sides. Outer wall is totally covered with the burnt soils (or bricks) and designed as horizontal parallel lines. Each of such horizontal lines are having a foot distance in between and those are found from top to the bottom of the structure. I have found 2/3 very small terracotta on the outer side of the walls. One was probably a shape of an elephant.
It is totally unknown these days about the builder of this Moth. It had a nearly destroyed inscription around it whose meaning is still unsolved these days. Scholar people are guessing this as an edifice of 16th or 17th century.
How to go
You can use a rented car during this traveling or the public transportation. You can hire a battery driven vehicles for the round trip. By using local transports reach at the Jatrapur Bazar first, and from there take another vehicle or van to reach at the Kodola Moth (কোদলা মঠ).
GPS coordinate of the Jatrapur Bazar is (22°42’58.51″N, 89°45’37.23″E). And the GPS coordinate of the Kodola Moth is (22°44’31.14″N, 89°46’21.38″E). For your information, the condition of the road is good in these days. A rickshaw will drop you in Jatrapur, from where it’s about a 3 km ask-directions-as-you-go walk from the Bagerhat city.

Bagerhat District is linked with Dhaka and other districts by road and Water. You can use any of those.

Every day, from 5pm to 7pm, three Launches and one streamer, drives from Dhaka Sadarghat to Hularhat in Pirojpur by turns. Once you reach Hularhat, you have to take a road transport, preferably a local bus or private car, which will drive you by Pirojpur to Bagerhat. Presently, there are no flight services from Dhaka to Bagerhat. However, an airport in Bagerhat is currently under construction and therefore, Flights from Dhaka to Bagerhat may be available in the near future.
