Majority of the Monipuri population of the country lives in Moulvibazar. Adampur and Madhabpur are their main residence. Monipuri Community is famous for their culture and traditions. The Ras Mela is a yearly celebrated festival of the Monipuris. Every year in November which is the beginning of Bengali month of Agrahayan this festival is arranged. People from all around come to visit and enjoy this Mela. Traditional Monipuri costumes ‘Khami’ and their homemade products are exhibited and sold here. Monipuri community makes their clothing themselves. Almost every family there owns a handloom. It is a part of their culture to weave their own cloths. Besides Khami they produce various other products like – shawl, sari, bed sheets and bags. These products have great demand in all parts of the country and abroad. Even if you don’t visit the Ras Mela or the Monipuri village itself you can find these Monipuri products in local markets of the town.
The community in Monipuri Village is also renowned for their dance. Their unique dance reflects their tradition and heritage. If you are visiting this part of the world, you shouldn’t miss the chance of watching Monipuri dance. More information about this ethnic community can be obtained at the Monipuri Culture Academy in Madhabpur.
Their products have great demand in all parts of the country and abroad. Pang Thu Mai Village is a bordering village. It is located in Gowainghat district. This village looks fabulous under the hills of Indian state of Meghalaya. Many hills and waterfalls from Meghalaya form the river Peain. The land for agricultural works is very large inside the village. The Barahill falls is located actually in between Bangladesh-India border. The waterfall belongs to India and the lake belongs to Bangladesh. The atmosphere of this place is electric. You can see the range of Meghalaya hills with thick green vegetation. It is indeed a unique destination for tourists of all tiers.

Modhu Palli is the birth place of famous poet Michael Modhusudan Dutta (মাইকেল মধুসূদন দত্ত). He was born in 25 January 1824. Modhu Palli is situated on the bank of Kapataksha Nad. It is a focal attraction for tourists. A fair named Modhu Mela is held every year on the day of Modhusudan's birthday. This occasion is being celebrated to pay tribute to the famous poet.
Shagordari is the place where Michael Modhusudan was born. In his Villa huge garden and small museum exists. There is work of sculpture on the gate of his house. The Kaoataskho River is close to his residence.

কেশবপুর উপজেলার সাগরদাঁড়ি ইউনিয়নের একটি গ্রামের নাম সাগরদাড়ি যেখানে মহাকবি মাইকেল মধুসুদন দত্ত ১৮২৪ সালের ২৫শে জানুয়ারি জন্মগ্রহন করেন। কপোতক্ষ নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত সাগরদাড়িতে ‘মধুপল্লী’ প্রতিষ্ঠা করা হয়েছে যেখানে প্রতিদিন নানা দেশের পর্যটকেরা এসে থাকেন। প্রতিবছর মধুসুদনের জন্মদিনে এখানে মধু মেলা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়ে থাকে।
এখানে অবস্থিত মাইকেল মধুসুদন দত্তের বিশাল ভিলায় রয়েছে একটি বড় বাগান, একটি ছোট জাদুঘর এবং কয়েকটি ভবন। ভবনের সামনের ফটকে কবির ভাস্কর্য রয়েছে। এখান থেকে কপোতক্ষ নদী এতোটাই কাছে অবস্থিত যে পাথর ছুড়ে মারলে সেটি নদীতে গিয়ে পরবে। এখানে ঘুরতে আসলে আপনি যশোরের কাছেই হামিদপুর গ্রামে অবস্থিত প্রাচীন ‘সানি মসজিদ’ দেখে যেতে পারেন। মসজিদটি সুলতানি আমলের স্থাপত্যশৈলীতে নির্মাণ করে হয়েছে।

Village Balia Vakutia is famous for its small weaving industry, where shaari, loongi, gamchha etc. are produced. Village Balia Vakutia has become a tourist attraction for its island-like look surrounded by two rivers, Jhapa Baor (ঝাঁপা বাওড়) and Khajura Baor (খাজুরা বাওর). The Kopotakkho River flows through the area.
