Brief

At Golapganj village about six kilometer distance of Dinajpur District head quarter there has an old temple name “Twin temple” locally known as “Jora Mandir”. It records that the Jora Mandir was established by Raja Ramnath (1722-1752) in 1676 Shaka era (1754 AD). Now it almost in ruins cause of no care. If you go there you will find 2 Mandir (Temple). Distance between two Temple 100 meters. One of the two is a 25 ratna twelve-sided structure, while the other is a 5 ratna quadrangular temple. The vicinity area of the temples are acquired by the local people, and they have built their own houses around the temple. The area of the Mandir are acquired by the local people, and they have establish their own houses side the temple. Thereby causing serious damage to the structures. Both temple are beautiful.

How to go

One can start his journey for the monument from Dinajpur town or Sayedpur Airport by any kind of motorized vehicle. We suggest travelers to hire a rickshaw van of take a ride by ‘Nosimon’ from the place called ‘Das Mile*, which means 10 miles’ upto ‘Baro Mile*, which means 12 miles’ boat point. It may take 10-20 Taka person for ride.

Sri Sri Shib Bari Naat Temple is a renowned Shiva Temple in Manikganj Sadar Upazila. It was established in the year 1954. But, it has been renovated in several times. It is not just a single temple but a complex of other features surrounding this temple. Goddess Kali's murti is situated just outside of this temple in a hut. Beside this hut there is a Crematorium adjacent to a lake name Borai Khal (বড়াই খাল). Spiritually this place is very sacred one in Hindu religion. Just at the left side of crematorium there is a pond here, where local people used to have their bath in daytime.

At the time when ORB (Offroad Bangladesh) team visited that temple it was very calm & quiet. Though, it is assumed that at the night time people do worship at this temple using various types of musical instruments.

There is a tin shed house situated inside of this temple, Which is being used as a center of pre religious studies for Hindu religion. A Brahman lives in this house who teaches the children and conduct the worshiping inside the temple.

Chondi Mura Mandir or Lalmai Mandir is a small temple. This Temple is at the southern end of the Lalmai Hill. That's why mostly the devoted people use to go here. Very few tourists like us use to go there. This temple is located at the top of a hillock and you have to climb there using the stairs. It’s tiresome to reach at the top.

Most of the tourist spots are somewhere around the other side of Shalbon Bihar of Comilla. You'll have the whole stairs is covered with evergreen trees. And at any stages, you can have a break by supporting your body on the railing of the stairs. You can see a long distance from there as you have already climbed a few. The temple premise is mainly having two temples. Each of those are having two small compartments are joined together (considered as single one). Left side temple is the Shiv Mandir and the right side temple is Chondi Mandir.

Naldanga Temple Complex was build in 1656 by Maharaj Indranarayan Debroy. The total number of temples amounts to six. The then government rebuilt those, but were destroyed due to riots. Rebuilding process is still being carried on.

খুলনা বিভাগের ঝিনাইদহ জেলার কালীগঞ্জ উপজেলায় নলডাঙ্গা মন্দির কমপ্লেক্স অবস্থিত। ১৬৫৬ সালে মহারাজ ইন্দ্রানারায়ণ দেব রায় এই মন্দির কমপ্লেক্সটি নির্মাণ করেন। এই কমপ্লেক্সে মোট মন্দিরের সংখ্যা ছয়টি। সরকার এখানকার মন্দিরগুলো পুনঃনির্মাণ করলেও সেগুলো দাঙ্গার কারনে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়। বর্তমানে এই কমপ্লেক্সে পুনঃনির্মাণ কার্যক্রম অব্যাহত রয়েছে। এখানে অবস্থিত দেবতা কালীর মূর্তিটি ভারতের বেনারাস থেকে আনা হয়েছে।

I shall save you.” Baba Loknath was born on 31 August 1730 (Bengali calendar 18th Bhadra, 1137) on the sacred day of Krishna Janmashtami in in the village of Chaurasi Chakla, named as Kochua, few miles far from Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, now in West Bengal, India. He is from a Brahmin family. His father name was Sri Ramnarayan Ghoshal and mother name was Shrimatee Kamaladevi. He has lot of followers and devotees around the world. He has traveled many pilgrimages on foot of Persia, Arabia, Israel and Mecca. They believe at the age of 160, on June 1, 1890 C.E. Baba Loknath took his Samadhi (Left his life means died).
