Pocha Dighi and Ghora Dighi have own historical and religious significance toward the villagers. The crocodiles in the pond never will harm you even if you touch them. Here many people used to come every day in a way to make their wish fulfilled. As a result many gifts were given by them. The belief of them is high with that. So many wish have already been fulfilled. There used be a fair in almost every day. Different types of local items can be found here to shop.

Every day, from 5pm to 7pm, three Launches and one streamer, drives from Dhaka Sadarghat to Hularhat in Pirojpur by turns. Once you reach Hularhat, you have to take a road transport, preferably a local bus or private car, which will drive you by Pirojpur to Bagerhat. Observe the beautiful view of the pond. Both are very much interesting in a point that these ponds were dug so many years ago, but they still look same.

It is said that during the reign of kings, Jaysagar Dighi was excavated for collecting water for cattle. Historians claim that during reign of King Gopal Pal, this Dighi was excavated. Many fish farms have been established in this Dighi. This Dighi has a lease settlement with Grameen bank for 25 years. The tenure of lease is almost coming to an end. Adjacent to this Dighi there are several other Dighis. In addition to the huge reservoir, there are sufficient places to build the necessary infrastructure in place for the tourists. There are other dighis like Uday Dighi, Shaila Dighi, Dewan Pirer Mazar etc.

ইতিহাসবিদরা দাবি করেন যে রাজা গোপাল পালের শাসনকালে জয়সাগর দীঘি খনন করা হয়। এই দীঘিতে অনেক মৎস্য খামার গড়ে উঠেছে। গ্রামীণ ব্যাংককে এই দিঘীটি ২৫ বছরের জন্য লীজ দেওয়া হয়েছে যেটি প্রায় শেষ হবার পথে। অন্যান্য দীঘিগুলোর মধ্যে আছে উদয়দীঘি, শালিয়াদীঘি, দেওয়ান পীরের মাজার ইত্যাদি। এই দীঘির পাশেই আরও কয়েকটি দীঘি আছে। এছাড়াও পর্যটকদের জন্যে প্রয়োজনীয় স্থাপনা তৈরির জন্য পর্যাপ্ত জায়গাও আছে এখানে। বলা হয়ে থাকে রাজাদের শাসনকালে এই দিঘীটি গরু ছাগলকে পানি খাওয়ানোর জন্যে খনন করা হয়েছিল।

Bharaura Lake in Bharaura tea garden near Sreemangal is possessed by the James Finlay Co. A traveler can have a spectacular view of Lotus floating all over the lake which is the core attention of the lake. You might find some monkeys as your companions around. Left to the rail cross of the garden about 1.5 km ahead. You can observe the red hill enclosed by jackfruit trees. If you get close to the trees you might be frightened by the sound of monkeys, live in shades of trees.

Be advised, you should not try to be over smart and try to return before sunset, as there is much more concerning the security. The western area of Sreemangal consists a place filled with Haors and beels which is known as Hail Haor. There is a water front which becomes the territory of winter birds.

ভারাউড়া লেক মৌলভীবাজার জেলার শ্রীমঙ্গল উপজেলায় অবস্থিত। ভারাউড়া চা বাগানে অবস্থিত ভারাউড়া লেকটির মালিকানার অধিকারী জেমস ফিনলে কোম্পানি। এই লেকের মূল আকর্ষণ হল লেকের সর্বত্র ফুটে থাকা পদ্মফুল যা বহুগুনে লেকের সৌন্দর্য বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছে। এছাড়া এখানে আসলে পাহাড়ের গায়ে বেড়ে ওঠা কাঁঠাল গাছ দেখতে পাবেন। এসব গাছের কাছে গেলে কিছু বানরেরও দেখা পেতে পারেন আপনি। আপনাকে অবশ্যই সন্ধ্যার পূর্বেই ফিরে আসার চেষ্টা করতে হবে। হাওড় ও বিলে পরিপূর্ণ শ্রীমঙ্গলের পশ্চিমভাগকে বলা হয় হাইল হাওড়। শীতকালে এখানে অতিথি পাখির সমাগম হয়।

This district is beautiful enough for any traveler. But the beauty of the lake added another extra ornament. The blue water from the lake will please mind easily. Most of the main infrastructures from Madaripur town was built around the lake. The DC office, police station, and many more government buildings around the lake. The academic name of the lake is "Shokuni Lake", but local people won't be able to recognize the lake by that name. They simply know the lake as "Madaripur Lake".

This large lake has two portion separated by a fishing net. One half is using for fish cultivation. This water tank was built by few hundred years back by a Raja (a king) to ease the water crisis. But now a days this is a great entertainment place for the locals. During the afternoon, it will be hard to get an empty space around the lake. Most of the people from town used to pass some pleasing time with friends here. The sweets from the lake area are famous from Madaripur.

শকুনি লেকের সৌন্দর্য মাদারীপুর জেলার প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্যে বাড়তি মাত্রা যোগ করেছে। লেকের নীল পানি আপনাকে প্রশান্তি দেবে। ডিসিঅফিস, পুলিশ স্টেশন, এবং বিভিন্ন সরকারি স্থাপনাসহ মাদারীপুরের বেশীরভাগ স্থাপনাই এই লেকের আশেপাশে নির্মাণ করা হয়। বইপত্রে এই লেকটির নাম ‘শকুনি লেক’ হলেও স্থানীয়রা এটিকে ‘মাদারীপুর লেক’ হিসেবে চেনে। একটি মাছ ধরার জাল দিয়ে এই বিশাল লেকটিকে দুই ভাগে বিভক্ত করা হয়েছে যার একটি অংশে মাছ চাষ করা হয়। কয়েকশত বছর পূর্বে জনৈক রাজা পানির সংকট নিরসনে এই লেকটি খনন করেন। বর্তমানে এই লেকটি একটি বিনোদনকেন্দ্রে পরিনত হয়েছে। বিকালবেলা এই লেকে এতটাই জনসমাগম হয় যে এখানে কোন খালি জায়গা পাওয়া দুষ্কর হয়ে ওঠে। শহরের বেশিরভাগ মানুষ পরিবার পরিজন ও বন্ধুবান্ধব নিয়ে এখানে আসেন অবসর সময় কাটাতে। লেকের আশেপাশে সুস্বাদু মিষ্টি পাওয়া যায়। এসব মিষ্টির জন্য মাদারীপুর জেলার সুখ্যাতি রয়েছে।
