Brief
Rampal Dighi is one of the most ancient Dighi(large pond) in Munshiganj District. It is about 1500m long from north to south and 300m wide. Recently built Rampal College stands on its northern bank. Rampal Dighi covers an area of about 55 acres of land.
The Lake of Legend:
Ballal Sen (Bengali: বল্লাল সেন; reign: 1160–1179) was the second ruler of the Sen dynasty of Bengal. He was the son and successor of Vijay Sen, the founder of Sen dynasty. King Bollal Sen was a famous ruler of Sen dynasty in Bikrompur. One day his mother told him that the tenants need a good & suitable source of water for their everyday use. The kind King set arrangement for making a very large pond. Actually his mother was instructed by some Angelic figures in a lucid dream. So,according to her dream she decided to walk a mile. Her walkway will be the area of the pond. After the pond is being dug, there was no water at all. Again according to the instruction of an angelic entity the King decided to sacrifice himself. But at last moment kings friend Rampal took his place. Rampal sacrificed himself and the pond was filled with water instantly. But unfortunately today there is no water in this pond anymore.
How to go
Although it’s located in Munshiganj Sadar , but from the bottom of Muktarpur bridge it will take almost 20-25 minutes to reach there in Rampal Dighi by Battery-rickshaw or CNG auto rickshaw. To reach there you have to ride on a vehicle moving toward Madina Bazar or Vanga Bazar.
How To Reach: Munshiganj District
There are several transport is available from Dhaka to Munshiganj. The bus services are “Nayan Paribahan”, “Dighir par Paribahan” and “Dhaka Transport”, all of the buses used to start from “Gulistan” of Dhaka. It will cost you 60-80 taka, and will require 1 hrs to 2 hrs bus journey depending upon the road traffic.
Also you can hire CNG auto rickshaw from the “Postogola”, and it will take you 250-350 to take you at Muktarpur bridge. Remember, if you are hiring CNG, make sure who will provide the toll of the bridge. For you information, the toll fee is 20 taka. So negotiate with the driver of CNG about who will provide the toll.
Where to Stay
Though the district is just beside the Dhaka, still its hard to find a suitable hotel from the district. The main reason, may be people from dhaka used to come this place for a single day trip. But anyway, if you need to stay at Munshiganj town, that case I’ll suggest you to stay at “Hotel Comfort” this one is the best from the town. Also you there is another one which is “Hotel three star international”. But the quality of the rooms of this hotel is not that much good. For both cases, it will take 100-700 taka per night depending upon the room.

Local people are familiar with this waterfall by the name 10 number waterfall (১০ নাম্বার ঝরনা). Though at internet, you may find another name Hajachhora Waterfall (হাজাছড়া ঝরনা). [post_content] => Kotka beach is one of the beautiful tourist spots among the entire Sundarbans where you can do a jungle trail along with night stay. It is actually a sanctuary area for the wild animals and UNESCO declared world heritage site. In Kotka, deer and monkeys can be seen many in numbers and the predators as the Royal Bengal Tiger can be seen sometimes. It has been said locally that the tigers often being available where the deer are available. If it is managed to get a safari early in the morning with a small boat to the inlet part of the river through forest a lots of wild animal could watched.
Like the other part of Sundarbans, Kotka is also full of flora and fauna. It took a survey and said that there is about 245 genera and 334 types of plants are at The Sundarbans. Moreover, some extinct type of birds likes Grey Eagle, the vultures and hornbills. More than fifty species of birds found at kotka.
The forest authority made a reservoir to get the sweet water for the wild animals during dry season. There is a watch tower also and from the tower tourists get a wonderful view of the forest. Form the watch tower it takes half an hour in walking distance you will reach to a wonderful sea beach out there named as Jamtola Beach. In winter season tigers Paws & Footprint can be seen often in the Kotka Beach.

Hakaluki Haor is a marsh wetland ecological system of Eastern Bangladesh in an area bordering Assam, India. It is one of Bangladesh's largest and one of Asia's larger marsh wetland resources. Some 190,000 people live in the surrounding Hakaluki Haor area.
Hakaluki Haor was designated an Ecologically Critical Area (ECA). It’s also a protected Ramsar site of international importance for the conservation and sustainable utilization of wetlands.
The surface area of Hakaluki Haor is 181.15 km2, of which 72.46 km2 (40.01%) is within the territory of Barlekha Upazila. The Haor is partly under the jurisdiction of Barlekha Upazila.

Taramun Tila is drawn on the Nationala Geospatial Agency (NGA) Map. Taramun Tila is a hillock situated 2 km far from Bagbari which is also known as Chhatak. The Hill is located at the latitude and longitude coordinates of 25.05 and 91.666667. Fishing enthusiasts interested in fishing near or at Taramun Tila should print out the Google map and take it with them on their fishing trip. This could be one of the best fishing or outdoors adventure locations in the regions of Asia/Pacific. Fishermen and Fisher-women should also submit a comment or report on Taramun Tila to help out their fellow anglers.
