BRTC bus reaches Kuakata from Dhaka, departing from Saidabad bus terminal. It usually takes about 12 hours to reach there. The BRTC buses are comparatively good. The most prominent bus named “Sakura” costs around 450 Taka, departing every night.

পটুয়াখালীতে চলাচলকারী বাসগুলোর মধ্যে আছেঃ
১।সাউদিয়া পরিবহন, সায়েদাবাদ কাউনটার, ফোনঃ ০১৯১৯৬৫৪৮৫৬, ০১৯১৯৫৬৪৮৫৭, ভাড়াঃ প্রায় ৩০০ টাকা, সকাল ১০ টা থেকে রাত ১২টা পর্যন্ত প্রতি ঘণ্টায় ঢাকা থেকে ছেড়ে যায়।
২।আবদুল্লাহ পরিবহন, সকাল ৭ টা থেকে সন্ধ্যা ৭:৩০ মিনিটের মধ্যে ঢাকা থেকে ছেড়ে যায়, ভাড়াঃ প্রায় ৩০০ টাকা।
৩।হানিফ পরিবহন, ফোনঃ ০১৭১৩০৪৯৫৫৯
৪।ঈগল পরিবহন , ভোর ৬ টা থেকে রাত ১১:৪৫ মিনিট পর্যন্ত প্রতি ৪৫ মিনিট পরপর ঢাকা থেকে ছেড়ে যায়, ভাড়াঃ প্রায় ৩৫০ টাকা।
ঢাকা থেকে পটুয়াখালী যাওয়ার জন্য লঞ্চ হল একটি আরামদায়ক এবং সাশ্রয়ী মাধ্যম। ঢাকার সদরঘাট থেকে প্রতিদিন বিকাল ৫:৩০ মিনিট, সন্ধ্যা ৬:৩০ মিনিট এবং সন্ধ্যা ৭ টায় বেশকিছু লঞ্চ পটুয়াখালীর দিকে ছেড়ে যায়। এই লঞ্চগুলোর মধ্যে উল্লেখযোগ্য হলঃ সৈকত, সাত্তার খান, আঁচল এবং সুন্দরবন। লঞ্চগুলির ভাড়া নিম্নরুপঃ

1. You can visit this place on the Rash Mela season. Buddhist followers pay visits here during Rash and Maghi Purnima. A holy bath is taken by them at Kuakata beach.
2. Rash-Mela is also enjoyed by a lot of tourists. As a result of these events the beach becomes much more alluring to the tourists.It is held on the day of full moon in the Bangla month of Kartik (late autumn or mid-October to mid-November).
