Brief

Himchhari Natural Park is just around 5 kilometers apart from the main town. You can reach at that place by any kind of vehicles. To enter the area, you’ll need to buy tickets. Which is around 20 taka. There is only two place that you can enjoy at the park, one is the falls, and another one is the top of the hill.

From Cox’s Bazar, you should take local transports like rickshaw or CNG to reach Himchari

Bahadur Shah Park was known as Victoria Park initially. This is located at Lakkhibazar (laxmibazar or lokkhibazar) in old Dhaka. It has roads all-around of it. This is a small park and it may appear to you as a road circle to you.

The main history behind this park is, during the Sepoy's mutiny against British, hundreds of sepoys and their civil compatriots were publicly hanged, around the year 1857. Later on, at 1858, the Nawab Khwaja Abdul Ghani took an initiative to build a monument to commemorate the Sepoys.

This park was renowned as Victoria Park till 1947. But after that, it is renamed as Bahadur Shah Park after the name of "Bahadur Shah II", the last Mughal Emperor. But still now, local people used to call this park as Victoria Park. So keep this on your mind when you'll visit the place, otherwise you may find difficulties to locate the park.

It was officially declared in 1982 under the Wildlife Act of 1974. The core area of the park covers 940 hectares but extends to 5,022 ha of surrounding forest. Its purpose is to protect important habitats as well as to provide opportunities for recreation. The area was noted for peacocks, tiger, leopard, Black Panther, elephant, clouded leopard and samba deer. The park has 220 plant species, including 43 different tree species, 19 shrubs, 3 palms, 27 grasses, 24 vines, and 104 herbs. The wildlife in the park includes 13 mammals, 9 reptiles, 5 birds and 5 amphibians. Dreamland is the most prominent park of Gaibandha district. It is located at Palashbari Upazila. A businessman, Nuronnobi Chan Mia built this park. People from different districts come here to visit this park. Different species of trees are planted here. For children many kinds of funny sculpture(ভাস্কর্য) are also available here . Here you can see a lot of sculptures of great person around the world. Besides,the sculptures of our national heroes are also built here. Among them AK Fazlul Hoque, Hossain Shaheed Sahrawardy (হুসাইন শহীদ সোহরাওয়ার্দী), Mawlana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani, Bangabandho Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Ziaur Rahman, Bangabir M.A.G. Osmani (বঙ্গবীর এম. এ. জি. ওসমানী), Tajuddin Ahmed, Nazrul Islam, Munsur ali, kamrujjaman etc are notable.

Here you can see stunning sculpture of Rabindranath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam, Begum Rokeya, Michael Madhusudan Datta (মাইকেল মধুসুদন দত্ত) etc. You may also see the sculptures of great scientist, Such as Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose (স্যার জগদীশ চন্দ্র বসু), John Beard (জন বেয়ার্ড), Michael Faraday (মাইকেল ফ্যারাডে), Alexander Graham Bell (আলেকজাণ্ডার গ্রাহায়েম বেল), Marconi (মার্কনী). Eid, Puja, Pahela Boishakh, Independence day, Victory Day and in other different festivals, many people gather in this place.

Natore Children Park is located at the Rajshahi-Bogra Highway, just opposite of Shankar Gobinda Chowdhury Stadium in Natore Sadar Upazila. This park consists of lot of elements. There is a big lake and a bridge over it. The big portion of the park is structured as children’s playground with several manual rides. And the small portion has animals made with clay for children attraction.

This park was established in the year 2003 by Advocate Ruhul Kuddus Talukdar Dulu, the then Deputy Minister of Land. The main reason behind building the park is to gather the general people of the locality for entertainment in various occasions. Also, because of not having available children playground, this was built to enhance their childhood, although people of all ages gather here every day.

Throughout the park, there are lots of seating arrangements. Usually every afternoon, people come here with their friends and family members to enjoy their leisure time. Also in any occasions, this park is being decorated for enlarging the tourist attraction.
