Brief

Chandanpura Mosque is an attractive multiple domed mosque. This is situated is just beside the Kaptai road, the old part of the Chittagong. If you are traveling the place from Chittagong, then you can take a CNG auto rickshaw, and just ask the auto to take you at “Chandanpura Mosque”. The mosque is renovated at 1952. The colorful design of the mosque is really outclass. Recently due to pollution, the mosque is losing its beauty day by day.

Just opposite of the mosque, there is fire station. This building was built during the British reign. This red building of the fire station is very eye catching and make people remember the history of infrastructure of then British Architecture.

This spot is located in Nawab Sirajuddowla Road. After reach in Chittagong, take rickshaw or CNG to reach that place.

A eighteenth century mosque named as Dewan Bari Mosque located at Aminbazar area of Savar, within a clear view from the Dhaka-Aricha highway. There is an adjacent old house to this Mosque known as Dewan Bari. It is assumed that this old house and Mosque built in temporary time. Jamalpur Shahi Mosque is one of the oldest mosque in Gaibandha district. It was built by Hazrat Maulana Shah Jamal (R). There are no specific inscription behind the proper construction period of this mosque. There is a Folklore that a war had been occurred between Hazrat Shah Jamal and contemporary Hindu Raja Khirodhar (ক্ষীরোধার) where Raja Khirodhar was defeated by Shah Jamal (R). For preserving this victory, Hazrat Shah Zamal (R) built this mosque just in one night.

The people who are living here, have strongly believe about this Myth. There is also a pond in front of the mosque which was also built by Shah Zamal in one night.

Bandar Shahi Mosque (বন্দর শাহী মসজিদ ) is situated in the Bandar Municipal area. It was built in 1482 AD (886 AH) by Malik Al-Muazzam Baba Saleh, a high official under Sultan Jalaluddin Fateh Shah.

It is a square building measuring 6.20 meter a side in the interior and 9.70 meter in the exterior. It has four octagonal corner towers and a large hemispherical dome supported by two engaged black stone pillars embedded in each wall with square bases, capitals and octagonal shafts. The square inches which hold up the dome spring from the top of these pillars. The dome has a lotus and pitcher finial. The raising of the dome on a drum crowned with merlons seems to be part of Mughal renovations. There are three entrances in the east of which the central one is wider, measuring 2.20 meter high and 1.37 meter wide. The two other entrances each on the south and north sides are 2 meter high and 1 meter wide. The side entrances are of the same size as the front central one. Of the three semi-circular mihrabs, the central one is the largest and the northern mihrab is being used as a closet.

The mosque has been renovated and enlarged by verandas on the east, south and north sides. Ariphil mosque (early 16th century), located in Sarail Upazila, is next to Kālikachha in Brahmanbaria District. Ariphil mosque (আরিফিল মসজিদ) is named after a Saint named Shah Arif. It is a mosque having three domes. Not that much antiquities are left now a days after an extravagance painting. It is situated beside a large water tank locally named as Sagar dighi.

প্রায় ১৬শ শতকের শুরুতে নির্মিত আরিফিল মসজিদটি ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া জেলার সরাইল উপজেলার কালীকাচ্ছা নামক স্থান অতিক্রম করে সাগর দীঘি নামক একটি বিশাল পানির ট্যাঙ্কের পাশে অবস্থিত। শাহ আরিফ নামক এক সাধকের নামে নামকরণ করা এই মসজিদটিতে তিনটি গম্বুজ রয়েছে। মসজিদটিতে বহুবার রঙের কাজ করানোর কারনে এটির প্রাচীন বৈশিষ্ট্য আর অবশিষ্ট নেই।
