Brief

Court Masjid (কোর্ট মসজিদ) is located at the center of the Gopalganj Sadar Upazila. It is a nicely decorated mosque having a high minaret beside and a central dome atop of the mosque. The dome and the minaret is oriented with lot of small stars. This mosque was inaugurated (at 1949) by the Khaza Nazimuddin (খাজা নাজিমুদ্দিন), the former governor general of East Pakistan.

How to go

This Court Mosque is located at the center of the Gopalganj (গোপালগঞ্জ) district town. More or less everyone knows about this mosque. You can take rickshaw from anywhere of the town and come here. This mosque is also known as Gopalganj Central Jame Mosque (গোপালগঞ্জ কেন্দ্রীয় জামে মসজিদ). GPS Coordinate of the Court Mosque is (23° 0’14.74″N, 89°49’41.94″E).

Mirzapur Jame Mosque is located in Mirzapur about six kilometer far away from Atwari subdistrict on the Atwari-Panchagarh road of Panchagar district.

An inscription wrote in Persian language on the eastern wall of the Masjid provide its reconstruction and reparation by one Shaikh Malik-Uddin in 1252 BS (1831 AD). But nobody don’t know its actual construction date. Recently Department of Archaeology, Bangladesh taking care of this Masjid. There are two ancient graves to the south side of the mosque and north-east side stands an old well. The mosque has three domes, an open courtyard (17meter / 14meter) surrounded by wall. Access gate room of the courtyard (4.12m / 2.12m with 0.60m thick wall) is situated its east middle side. The gate room covered by sloping four-ways roof.

The mosque is rectangular externally length is 13m width is 5.40m with 3 entry doors on the east and 3 mihrabs on the west wall inside. The middle door and the middle mihrab are bigger than the others, which are of same size and height. There is 2 window in the center of the south and north walls. On the roof there are four towers four corners of the masjid. The walls outside are now whitewashed and the terracotta plaques are painted red creating a very colorful exterior.

Chamchika Mosque is a very old and beautiful mosque which was made by copying chamchika mosque in India. This is near the Khania dighi, also called Khania Dighi Masjid. Chamchika Mosque is located in Shahabazpur Upazila of Chapai Nawabganj.

Belabo Bazar Mosque,a grand mosque constructed with Tk 35 million, was inaugurated on 8th of November 2008. At least 12,000 people can say their prayers at a time at the mosque of 200 feet length and 125 feet width. Renowned industrialist of Narsingdi district Abdul Kadir Mollah carried the whole construction cost of the mosque.

The first founder and land owner of the Moque named 'Alhajj Mahmud Ali Bhuiyan' donated his land for building this Mosque. Who is known as 'Mamdi Bepari'. Later Abdul Kadir Mollah announced his grand donation on a public place in Belabo to build this Mosque as a Mega Structure. Local people feels proud to be the inhabitants of this Upazila. Many people from different direction come to visit this Mosque everyday.

There is a mosque at Kalampur bazar, near Dhamrai, called "Depashai Jame Masjid". This mosque was renovated around end of the year 2009. The original mosque, a small mosque with 3 domes, was built around 65 years ago. The owner had demolished the mosque into ground to extend the balcony of the newly developed mosque.
