Brief

Gurr River, the actual name of this place is Nagar River, but popularly known by the locals as Gurr. It is one of the beautiful rivers of Bangladesh. It is situated at Singra Upazila of Natore district near “Singra Upazila Health Complex”. It is very small but, looks very pleasant. There is a very large sized bill beside this river. The coordinate is 24° 30′ 54.43″ N 89° 8′ 42.75″ E. The Bridge was built years ago, the exact year was not found, but it’s really helping the people in establishing business connection on both sides of the river.

How to go

After reaching at Natore Sadar, take local bus, CNG or Auto rickshaw to reach Singra Upazila Bazar. From there, take rickshaw or Auto rickshaw to reach that place.

A few kilometers west from the Dhamrai Bazar, there is a river beside the road which is called "Bongshi". It is almost covered by the deadly hyacinths. There is no flow at the river, and at your first look, you'll feel like it as a canal.

The color of the water is kind of blackish. It can be due to the hyacinth, or due to the waste dumping from the factories nearby. Whatever the case is, you should not show any audacity to touch the water. The authority haven’t take any steps to keep the rivers (like Bongshi) alive.

Madhumati River, distributary of the upper Padma River (Ganges [Ganga] River), flowing through southwestern Bangladesh. It leaves the Padma just north of Kushtia and flows 190 miles (306 km) southeast before turning south across the swampy Sundarbans region to empty into the Bay of Bengal. In its upper course it is called the Gorai; in its lower course it is known as the Baleswar; and its estuary mouth, which is some 9 miles (14 km) wide, is called the Haringhata. The Madhumati is one of the largest of the Padma distributaries in the southern part of the Gangetic Plain.

একাধিক জেলা দিয়ে প্রবাহিত বাংলাদেশের চমৎকার এই নদীটির পানির রঙ সবুজ। বাংলাদেশের অন্যতম ছোট জেলা মাগুরা দিয়েও এই নদীটি প্রবাহিত হয়েছে। মধুমতি নদীটি বাংলাদেশের অন্যান্য নদীগুলোর মতো কারন বর্ষা মৌসুমের শুরুতে এই নদীটি যথেষ্ট প্রসারিত থাকে যা কিনা বর্ষা মৌসুমের শেষে আরও বেড়ে যায়। নদীর একপাড় থেকে অন্য পাড়ে মানুষকে পাড় করার জন্যে একটি খেয়া ঘাট আছে। এই নদীতে ট্রলারের মত ভারি নৌযান চলাচল না করায় নদীটির পানি তেল দিয়ে দুষিত হয়নি।

অন্যান্য নদীর তীরের চেয়ে এই নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত রাস্তাটি বেশ উঁচু। এছাড়া এখানে অবস্থিত একটি বটগাছ আছে যেটির ছায়াতলে ক্লান্ত পথিক, রিকশাচালকরা বিশ্রাম নিয়ে থাকেন।

Rupsha River and Bridge are located in south-west of Bangladesh. It is formed as a result of union of the Bhairab and Atrai rivers. It changes its name to Pasur River near Chalna while flowing into the Bay of Bengal.

Rupsha is a very popular river in Bangladesh. Flowing by the sides of Khulna city, it connects to the Bay of Bengal by Poshur River at Mongla channel. This river has very good natural sight in both of its banks.

In the bank of this important river, many fisheries, dock yard, ship yard, factories are located. Many fishermen run their families through fishing. The bridge over this river, known as Khan Jahan Ali Rupsha Bridge, connects Khulna and Bagerhat Districts.

Sariakandi Upazila (Bengali: সারিয়াকান্দি উপজেলা) is an upazila of Bogra District in the Division of Rajshahi, Bangladesh. Sariakandi Thana was established in 1886 and was converted into an upazila in 1983. It is named after its administrative center, the town of Sariakandi.
