Brief

The Museum of Independence in Dhaka depicts the struggle for independence of Bangladesh. It shows the history of the nation since Mughal tenure to independence in 1971. It is the first and only underground museum in the country. The museum is part of a 67 acre complex at Suhrawardy Udyan, the site from where Sheikh Mujibur Rahman gave his historic speech declaring the struggle for independence, and where the Pakistani forces surrendered after the War of Liberation. The museum was opened to public on 25th March 2015, the 45th Independence Day of Bangladesh.

You can come to see this Museum from different locations of Dhaka City. There are so many buses moving towards Shahbagh. Sohrawardi Uddyan is very near to Shahbagh Bus stop. This museum is few kilometers away from Shahbagh.

Hason Raja was born on 1854 in Sunamganj. His old house is situated at the bank of Surma River in the Tegharia area of Sunamganj Sadar. It is now been converted as a museum and a well known tourist place in the city.

Hason Raja was actually an aristocrat Zamindar. But he won a lot of people's heart by writing an enormous number of lyrics. After listening to his song, famous poet Rabindranath Tagore send him wishful letter. His tomb was situated in their family graveyard in Gazir Dorga area, Sunamganj where his mothers tomb was there too.

The museum is situated only 5 minutes walking distance from the Sunamganj city center traffic point. Today his used utensils and other accessories are kept in this place.

হাসন রাজা (জন্ম ১৮৫৪ মৃত্যু ১৯২১ খ্রিঃ) সুনামগঞ্জ পৌরসভা এলাকার তেঘরিয়ায় সুরমা নদীর কূল ঘেষে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে হাসন রাজার স্মৃতি বিজড়িত বাড়ীটি। এ বাড়িটি একটি অন্যতম দর্শনীয় স্থান। হাসন রাজা মূলত ছিলেন একজন সম্ভ্রান্ত জমিদার। মরমী সাধক হাসন রাজা জীবনে অসংখ্যা গান রচনা করে আজ অবধি লোকপ্রিয়তার শীর্ষ অবস্থান করেছেন। কালোর্ত্তীণ এ সাধকের ব্যবহৃত কুর্তা, খড়ম, তরবারি, পাগড়ি, ঢাল, থালা, বই ও নিজের হাতের লেখা কবিতার ও গানের পান্ডুলিপি আজও বহু দর্শনার্থীদের আবেগ আপ্লুত করে। এই মরমী কবির রচিত গানে মুগ্ধ হয়ে বিশ্বকবি রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর হাসন রাজাকে পত্র মাধ্যমে অভিনন্দন ও প্রশংসা জানিয়েছিলেন।সুনামগঞ্জ পৌর এলাকাধীণ গাজীর দরগা নামক পারিবারিক কবরস্থানে প্রিয়তম মায়ের কবরের পাশে চিরনিদ্রায় শুয়ে আছেন মরমী কবি হাসন রাজা। হাসন রাজার মাজার দেখার জন্য প্রতি বৎসর বহু দর্শনার্থীর সমাগম হয়।

Our National poet Kazi Nazrul Islam was born in Churulia of Burdwan(বর্ধমান) district, West Bengal on May 25, 1899. He spent a year of his boyhood in Kazir Shimla (কাজীর শিমলা) and Darirampur (দরিরামপুর) in Trishal, Mymensingh. He studied at Darirampur High School when he was in Class Seven and lodged at the house of Bechutia Bepari (বিচুতিয়া বেপারী) at Namapara, as his school was far from Kazir Shimla. In that regard, Namapara is given more importance than Kazir Shimla, say locals. Later, Kazi Rafizullah, a sub-inspector of police, took Nazrul to his village home at Kazir Shimla in 1914.

Nazrul memorabilia is symbolized by two Smriti Kendro (স্মৃতি কেন্দ্র) (Nazrul Memorial Center) in villages Kazir Shimla and Namapara, of Darirampur, Trishal draw the attention of visitors far and wide.

Nazrul memorabilia housed at the two center owns gramophones and records (released by His Masters Voice Company); manuscripts in Bengali, English, Hindi and Urdu and some rare black and white photographs of the poet. The memorabilia can be seen on the second floor of the center. The memorial centres also house a library with books authored by Nazrul and literary works on Nazrul by other writers.

Though the memorabilia collection is meagre, visitors flock enthusiastically to have a view. As every year, there has been a rush of visitors to the two Nazrul Smriti Kendra (memorial centres) at Kazir Shimla village and Darirampur in Trishal just ahead of the birth anniversary of the National Poet.

MAG Osmani Museum is a museum in Sylhet, Bangladesh. The ancestors’ home of Bangabir General Muhammad Ataul Gani Osmani, the Commander-in-Chief of Bangladesh Forces (12 April 1971 - 7 April 1972) has been transformed into today’s famous “Osmani Museum”. It is situated at the heart (Dhopa Dighir Par) of the Sylhet City Corporation area in renowned Sylhet Division of Bangladesh.

It is about 12 km from the Sylhet Osmani International Airport and 3 km from the Sylhet Railway Station. Maintained and organized by the Bangladesh National Museum, this museum has been established to pay rich tribute to the great hero of Bangladesh for his outstanding accomplishments. This will surely act as a stimulus to the future generations. The foundation stone was laid on 16 February 1985 and it was inaugurated on 4 March 1987 by the then president of Bangladesh H M Ershad.

‘Nur Manzil’ is by and large a tin shade building having few rooms and other amenities including an exquisite piazza in the front. One has to cross few meters from the main gate to reach the Museum. A huge portrait of the General, placed in the center of the entrance hall greets the visitors. Receptionist welcomes the guests. One has to write name and address in the register placed in the reception. A befitting sitting place is also available in the lobby.

This historic museum comprises three galleries, where personal belongings of General Osmani and a good number of historical photographs are preserved befittingly. On both western and eastern side of the building there exist two small rooms, where Assistant Keeper and Care Taker’s office are situated.

{:}{:bn}মহান মুক্তিযুদ্ধে মুক্তিবাহিনীর সর্বাধিনায়ক (১২ এপ্রিল ১৯৭১-৭ এপ্রিল ১৯৭২) বঙ্গবীর জেনারেল মুহাম্মাদ আতাউল গনি ওসমানীর পৈতৃক নিবাসটিকে বর্তমানে ‘ওসমানী জাদুঘর’ হিসেবে ব্যবহার করা হচ্ছে। এই জাদুঘরটি সিলেট ওসমানী আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর থেকে ১২ কিলোমিটার এবং সিলেট রেলওয়ে স্টেশন থেকে ৩ কিলোমিটার দূরে অবস্থিত। বাংলাদেশের মহান মুক্তিযুদ্ধে জেনারেল ওসমানীর মহান অবদানকে শ্রদ্ধাভরে স্মরণ করতে এই জাদুঘরটি প্রতিষ্ঠা করা হয়। এই জাদুঘরটির রক্ষনাবেক্ষনের করছে বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় জাদুঘর। ১৯৮৫ সালের ১৬ই ফেব্রুয়ারি এই জাদুঘরটির ভিত্তিপ্রস্তর স্থাপন করা হয় এবং বাংলাদেশের তৎকালীন রাষ্ট্রপতি এইচ এম এরশাদ ১৯৮৭ সালের ৪ঠা মার্চ এই জাদুঘরটি উদ্বোধন করেন। এই জাদুঘরটি নিঃসন্দেহে ভবিষ্যৎ প্রজন্মকে প্রেরনা জোগাবে। ‘নুর মঞ্জিল’ হলো কয়েকটি কক্ষ সমৃদ্ধ একটি টিনশেড ভবন যেটির সামনে রয়েছে একটি চমৎকার চত্বর। জাদুঘরে পৌছাতে হলে আপনাকে মূল ফটক থেকে কয়েক মিটার অতিক্রম করতে হবে। জাদুঘরে ঢোকার মুখেই অভ্যর্থনাকারীদের পাশাপাশি জেনারেল ওসমানীর একটি বিশাল প্রতিকৃতি আপনাকে স্বাগত জানাবে। আপনাকে অভ্যর্থনা কক্ষে রক্ষিত রেজিস্টারে আপনার নাম ও ঠিকানা লিপিবদ্ধ করতে হবে। জাদুঘরের লবিতে বসার সুব্যাবস্থা রয়েছে। এই জাদুঘরের তিনটি গ্যালারীতে জেনারেল ওসমানীর ব্যবহার করা জিনিসপত্র ছাড়াও বেশকিছু ঐতিহাসিক ছবি যথাযথভাবে সংরক্ষণ করা হয়েছে। জাদুঘর ভবনের পশ্চিম এবং পূর্ব প্রান্তে জাদুঘরের তত্ত্বাবধায়ক এবং সহযোগী তত্ত্বাবধায়কের কক্ষ অবস্থিত।{:} ) [3] => Array ( [name] => Lalon Academy and Museum [post_id] => 22046 [post_link] => http://offroadbangladesh.com/bn/places/lalon-academy-and-museum/ [thumb_link] => http://offroadbangladesh.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/P_20151017_123549_1_p-225x300.jpg [post_content] => Lalon Shah is the father of folk music in Bengali and the Emperor of the Baul (বাউল) empire. He was not only a singer and poet but also a great thinker and philosopher. He had knowledge on all religions and people did follow him for his diverse knowledge. Nobody knows from where Lalon Shah came from. According to locals, in 1774 an honorable Muslim man of locality named Molom Shah found Lalon floating over a river. Lalon was very sick and was going to die almost. But Molom Shah took very well care and gradually Lalon became well. After getting a new life Lalon became a follower of a great thinker and singer Shiraj Shah. But Shiraj Shah found something strange inside of Lalon and he became the follower of Lalon. Lalon Academy-Museum and The Shrine of Lalon Fakir is two adjacent building. The collection of this Museum is not so rich. Lalon Academy: The place where the tomb is situated is very nice. It has been developed now with a VIP Auditorium, an indoor and an outdoor Auditorium, a complex building of Lalon Academy, a car parking area, a market and a museum. There is also a beautifull garden inside of the area. Lalon Museum: If a traveler wants to see the tomb only then it’s free of cost. But if someone wants to see the museum then he/she will have to pay 5 taka for the Bangladeshi and 20 taka for foreigners as entry fee. In the gallery of this Museum traveler can discover some utensil being used by Lalon Shah. There are also some paintings of Lalon Shah inside the museum. ) )
