Naldanga Zamindar Bari (নলডাঙ্গা জমিদার বাড়ি) is a very significant historical place of Gaibandha. It was the birth place of Tulshi Lahiri, a great artist, actor as well as writer. Surendrochandro, father of Tulshi Lahiri, decorated this colorful Zamindar Bari. Cheratar is one of the dramatic book of Tukshi Lahiri which is still included in books in the intermediate standard level in Kolkata.
At British period, Naldanga Zamindar Bari was one of the vital center for collecting revenue of North Bengal. Shibchandra and Shomvochandra were the two brothers who first came to Naldanga and founded the Zamindar Bari. Shibchandra was the grandfather of Tulshi Lahiri. Back of the Zamindar Bari, a relics of Mandir is still seen here. In front of the wall of Zamindar Bari, many valuable sculptures had been hooked, but most of them were stolen or snatched by the local people. Only one sculpture was rescued and still unharmed.

Balia Zamindar House or Palace is once known as a symbol of dignity in this region. Still some of the ancestors of this zamindari estate living in Kolkata. Interviewing local folks ORB team came to about its identity and partial history, which could be possibly will help to rebuild its actual history in near future.
So far we came to know from different sources that, this zamindari was founded by man named Zamindar Malik Muhammad Box (জমিদার মালিক মুহাম্মদ বক্স) who came to this region from Multan. His son Hazi Malik Karim Box (হাজি মালিক করিম বক্স) was chronologically the second successful famous zamindar of this estate who donated a big amount of money from ‘Kashmir & Kyed-E-Azam relief fund’.
According to the old people of Balia this building is more than 400 Years old. There is a little difference between this Zamindar house with others. It’s one of the few Zamindari estate in Bangladesh which was being founded by Muslim zamindars where as rest of others being established by Hindu zamindars.
This old house is on the way to ruin, most of its building material is being removed. Except its tall dome and a triangular pediment rest others element is lost in course of time.There is a three domed Mosque in front this old House which could be possibly built in some later time.

Monu Mia Zamindar House, a massive Palace with two conjunctive complex located very near to the Ghorashal Bus-stand of Narsingdi. It was reconstructed in the 1335 BE (Bengali Era) by a land lord of this region named Sazda Mia. This Zamindar House is one of the greatest examples of Classical Colonial Architecture in Bangladesh.
At the front view, meticulously designed Corinthian Columns, arch shaped door, decorated Parapet with leaf's motifs will certainly arise the attraction to observe its inner beauty. Inside of this Palace, it is well furnished and decorated with distinguish design. The temperature in the palace always stays little down than the outside yard.
In the front of the house, there is a huge space for porch. Several ponds surrounding the Palace increases its beauty.
