Renwick Jaggeswar Factory Ltd. is a company mainly responsible for supplying sugarcane crusher, all parts of mills and roller re-shelling, pump and agricultural tools, machine-spare parts of paper, consuming oil and jute industries, various hardware products etc. It’s a public Ltd. Company controlled in care of Bangladesh Sugar and food industries corporation.

Major part of its products goes to 15 sugar mills of Bangladesh. All sugar mills is dependent on the raw material of this company.

Back in 1997, a devastating accident occurred while the exploration in one of the wells in Magurchara gas field. An unimaginable catastrophe broke out in the 840 meter below of surface level in the said gas field on the 14th June 1997. The explosion cost too much for the environment, it denuded about 700-acre reserved forest, destroyed 10 tea gardens and hampered greatly the lives of numerous workers and tribal people living nearby. Though measures have been taken to improve the conditions, evident to this major accident are still seen in the location of the accident.

Chhatak Cement Factory, established in 1941, is one of the oldest industrial units in Bangladesh. Chhatak Cement Factory Ltd. manufactures cement. The company was formerly known as Assam Bengal Cement Company Limited. Chhatak Cement Factory Ltd. was founded in 1937 and is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The company operates as a subsidiary of Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation.

In order to raise production capacity from 1,35,000 tons to 2,33,000 tons, the 2nd phase of the expansion programme has been completed with financing from Asian Development Bank. The Factory uses limestone imported from Meghalaya, India and from its own quarry-Takerghat Limestone Mining Project.

It was commissioned on 11th February 1979. BMTF is a state owned limited company under the management of Bangladesh Army. This factory has enormous prospects to open up new avenues with products and services for local & foreign markets. Under the management of Bangladesh Army, BMTF is now reshaping itself to respond to the new challenges.

Bangladesh Ordnance Factories (BOF), commonly known as Arms Factory, is an integrated and important base for indigenous production of defense equipment and form the backbone of the country’s defense production. It is one of the largest defense industrial complexes under the ministry of Defense, producing conventional arms and ammunition to international standards. It was inaugurated in 1970. BOF is situated about 50 km from Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, at Gazipur Cantonment, a model township with most of the civic amenities available.
