Brief

Sorobor (সরোবর) is one of the most beautiful tourist spots in Gobindaganj under Gaibandha district. It is a natural lake. The main advantage is that Sorobor is located besides the historical place of Bardhan Kuthi (বর্ধন কুঠি). The lake is surrounded by lovely green trees. In everyday, many people come here to enjoy its natural beauty and pass sometime around this lake with family and friends. In the summer season, this place becomes busier with more crowd comparing to other seasons.

How to go

First you have to go to Gobindaganj. Then hire a CNG or rickshaw to reach the Sarobor lake. Sorobor is approximately two kilometres from Gobindaganj.

Dhaka and Gaibandha is linked by road. You can take a bus from Dhaka to reach Gaibandha district. Some of the bus services have been listed below for your assistance.

Limestone Lake of Tekerghat is located near the Tanguar Haor, so close to Indian border. Once upon a time there was a limestone quarry, but now-a-days that one is not functioning. The Tekerghat Limestone Lake (টেকেরঘাট চুনাপাথরের লেক) is minimum 18 kilometers north from the Tahirpur town.

The water of the lake is clear. You might the water of the lake would be blue. But still the water isn’t bad. This lake was created by quarrying the limestone. Exactly other side of the lake is India. People from India usually take their bath at that side. Hill of that side has large boulders of limestone, but all belongs to India.

There are few small Tila (টিলা) available in Bangladesh side, possibly 20 ft. height and artificial. You can pass few minutes on those if you like.

Alta Dighi is located approximately 56km away from Zilla Sadar. Its length is 1113 meters, breadth 42.81 meters and volume of 42.81 meters. It is a very attractive spot for the tourists. This is situated exactly near at the India-Bangladesh border at the North Bengal. There is a beautiful forest near the dighi.

আলতাদীঘি জেলা সদর থেকে প্রায় ৫৬ কিলোমিটার দূরে অবস্থিত। দিঘীটি লম্বায় ১১১৩মিটার, চওড়ায় ৪২.৮১ মিটার এবং আয়তনে ৪২.৮১ মিটার। পর্যটকদের জন্য জায়গাটি খুব আকর্ষণীয়। এই জায়গাটি উত্তরবঙ্গে ভারত-বাংলাদেশ সীমান্তের কাছে অবস্থিত। দিঘীটির কাছে একটি বন আছে।

Madhobpur Lake and Tea Estate is located in Kamalganj Upazila of Moulvibazar District. The pleasant natural Madhobpur Lake is surrounded by small hills (Tila). Most of the hills are planted with tea trees. The bank side of the lake is full of lotuses and lilies. The color of the lilies is bluish which adorns this place with a bluish sphere. The lake is surrounded by small hills.

The lake is so wide and it’s hard to cover the whole lake with your camera. There is always heavy wind blows surround the lake that made the water of the lake looks like a river or calm sea water. You might have seen such kind of magenta and white colored lilies before. It is so beautiful, and the lily looks like a bit glowing from far. It seems that someone Photoshoped the flowers for that glowings.

{:}{:bn}মাধবপুর লেক এবং চা বাগান মৌলভীবাজার জেলার কমলগঞ্জ উপজেলায় অবস্থিত। দর্শনীয় মাধবপুর লেক বয়ে গিয়েছে ছোট পাহাড় ও টিলার মধ্য দিয়ে। লেকের চারপাশের বেশীরভাগ পাহাড় ও টিলায় চা চাষ করা হয়। এই লেকের পানি সবসময় ছেয়ে থাকে নীল ও সাদা রঙের পদ্ম ফুলে। লেকটি এতটাই চওড়া যে ক্যামেরায় পুরো লেকটিকে ধারন করা প্রায় অসম্ভব। লেকের ওপর দিয়ে প্রায় সবসময় বাতাস বয়ে চলায় লেকটিকে একটি নদী অথবা শান্ত সাগরের মত দেখায়। এই লেকের নীল ও সাদা পদ্ম ফুলগুলো বহুদূর থেকে এতটাই জ্বলজ্বল করে যেন মনে হয় পদ্মফুলগুলোর ওপর কেউ নিপুণ হাতে শিল্পকর্ম করেছে। লেক থেকে প্রায় ৫ কিলোমিটার দূরে একটি স্মৃতিস্তম্ভ রয়েছে।{:} ) )
