Shila Devir Ghat is an archaeological spot which is situated at the Mahasthangarh of Shibganj from Bogra district. This ghat is just around 200 meter apart from the Mahastangarh, and it’s beside the river Korotoa.
According to the legend, the Shila Devi was the beautiful daughter of the king Parshurama, some people used to say she was the sister of the King Porshurama. After the war with King Shah Sultan, Shila Devi jumped inside the water of the Korota River to save her honor, and drowned herself.
The spot is known as the Ghat of Shila devi. But the scholars are counting this story as a myth. They believe that the original name of the place was 'Shila Dvipa', that means the island of stone. Anyway, the Hindus used to celebrate the Paus Narayani Bath annually at here.

Dafeul Bala is a pond adjacent to Tahkhana. It is said that if someone drinks its water than that person becomes cured free from diseases. The water of this pond is holy for all. For being free from all sorts of diseases religious conscious Muslims drink it. Many people gather here to drink its water.
It is said that during time of Shah Neymat Ullah the water of pond was polluted. Anyone drinking its water would result to death. Shah Neymat Ullah with few of his murids drank its water than it became pure.

At the North Bengal Sugar Mills Ltd. at Gopalpur in Natore district, about one hundred innocent people, officers, laborers, staffs and others of the mills, were killed on the staircase of a pond in the main mill premises by machine gun burst-fire on May 5, 1971 by the beastly Pakistani soldiers. This holy pond is now called “Shaheed Sagar” by the local people.
On 1971 30th March in Lalpur Upazila, 4km to north of Gopalpur in Moynapur Village there was a war of Khan Senas. Next day when Major Reza Khan planned to escape he was shot by the public. In order to prevent Pakistani army for landing on the airport the local people demanding freedom broke the runway and maid the Iswardi Airport inactive. There was a horrendous condition in the town yet for the sake of sugar cane cultivators, each people were assigned individual responsibilities in the mills. In May 5 1971 despite the surrounding conditions Mill was active.
Then suddenly a group of Pakistani soldiers with the help of some Rajakaars entered the mill. The brush fired and killed the administrator Lt. Anwarul Azim and other employees of the mill. After killing them they left all the dead bodies in the pond. After Liberation this pond was named as Sagor Dighi. In 1973 in memory of Lt. Anwarul Azim Gopalpur railway station was named as Azimpur Station.

[post_content] => Gol Talaab or Gol Pukur is located at Islampur, just beside the Ahsan Manjil Palace. Local people used to call this as "Nawab bari pushkuni". This is a round shaped large pond. Every side of the pond is occupied with buildings.
From the top of the building, you can enjoy the both buriganga river, and the pond. Also at the far side you can see the dome of the Ahsan Manjil Palace.
This pond was made during 1886 by Nawab Abdul Bari. That's why some people used to call this as "Nawab Abdul Bari Pukur". It’s a nice place to watch, especially from the top.
Now a days the Pond is monitored and managed by the "Moulovi Khawaja Abdullah Welfare Trust". People used to take bath at this pond, but they have to pay for this. If you want to visit the place, you can take your shorts with you, so that you can throw your body at the water of the pond. It’s not that much high price to take a bath there.
