There is a picnic spot located at the village near Ronojitpur (রণজিতপুর). It is based on a house named Chondro Mohol. It was probably built by someone named Saiyad Amanul Huda Selim, who was a naval officer. Chondra (চন্দ্রা) is the name of his wife and the name of the house is given after her. Lot of local visitors use to come here every day. It was free once upon a time, but now a days they have put an entry fee to enter. Its 20 Taka these days. Apart from the house, the area is nicely decorated with flowers. Also it has symbolic sculptures to depict the lost culture of our Bangladesh. It has a mini zoo at one corner, and has several ponds around.
The house Chondro Mohol (চন্দ্র মহল) is surrounded by water and to reach there you have to go through an underpass that goes under the water. Inside the house, they have placed few stuffs which probably are the collected things from several part of the world (as a hobby, or during their traveling).

Kirtipasha Palace was named after King Kirty Narayana. Ramjibon sen founded the Kirtipasha palace. The jewels of the family are namely Rohini Roy and Tapon Roy. The contribution of Rohini Roy is Rohiniganj. There is a hospital in that area that is older than the Jhalakathi district hospital. There is also a family living near to the Shiva temple and Shiva's statue.
Kirtipasha Zamindar Bari (কীর্ত্তিপাশা জমিদার বাড়ী) is located at the village Kirtipasha (কীর্ত্তিপাশা) of Jhalokathi district. This is probably a century old house. Now a days, it is abandoned and in a dilapidated condition. For most of the cases only the walls are standing, and the floors or ceilings are disappeared.
The name of the village is after the Zamindar Kirtinarayan Pasha (জমিদার কীর্তি নারায়ণ). And the founder of the Zamindar Bari was Ramjibon Sen. Only one of the building from this massive property was in good condition. Right now that one is a part of a girl's school along with newly built buildings. The Zamindar Bari premise has a Shiva temple inside. And the remaining of a beautiful temple is also exists these days (only the columns and pillars).

Murapara Zamindar Palace was built during 1890 by Ramratan Banarjee. He was a trusted person of a British Indigo Planter during the British Colonial period. At that time when the indigo planter left the country after the death of his daughter, he gifted plenty of gold and money to Ramratan. Using those, he built this mammoth palace. During the war 1971, many ornate portion of the palace was plundered by people. We came to know that there were two statues of lions at the gate of the palace boundary, and both of them stolen that time. After the war, this palace was used as a refuge camp for the non-bengali people & local people established a college using the building.
This building was renovated several times, and now a days, it just lost all it's heritage. But still you can visit the palace for your weekend or any other holidays. There are two large ponds loacted at the palace premise. One at the front side and another one at the back side. You can take your sit at the bench made from stone (once upon a time, now no stone existing, only brick) to get some fresh air. In addition there is an old temple available inside the palace premise. It’s just in front of the pond . This palace is just beside the highway, and after that you can easily see the river Shitalakkhya (শীতলক্ষ্যা).

Poddar bari, or according to the local people, the "Panam Rajbari". This is a bit eastern side to the panam city. If someone wants to visit the place, then there is no way except passing through the panam city. This is currently a private property, and there is a picnic spot inside the boundary of the place. The owner of the place used to live at the newly built building beside the old one. But the old one is still empty.
After getting permission you can easily enter the area. Its not known when the building was actually built. But from the structure, and the design, it appears that it was built by some rich merchant during the 1900 AD. The structure and the design is almost identical to the Sonargaon Folk art and craft Museum. Inside the building, the yard is identical to the museum building of sonargaon.
The building comprises of numerous number of rooms. And interestingly you can move from one room to another one easily. There is no window at the rooms, and also no doors, most of those are taken down, or stolen, or something else. Since its a bit darker inside the building, its a hideout for the bats. When camera flashed, we have seen several bats were flying and making noisy sound. Also there nest of other birds which are making continuum sound, but we bet you won't feel bored by those. Those are really nice to hear. So if you are at sonargaon, please don't leave the place by only visiting the panam city. It will worth if you visit the place.
