Brief

Mata Sagar is a large tank of Dinajpur. This is near to the “Dinajpur Rajbari”. MataSagor is situated at the in Dinajpur town at Raja Rampur village. Once all banks of the water tank was covered with very high hills. Mata Sagor is more attractive than the Sukh Sagor, and they never dry at any season.

How to go

One can start his journey for the monument from Dinajpur town or Sayedpur Airport by any kind of motorized vehicle. We suggest travelers to hire a rickshaw van of take a ride by ‘Nosimon’ from the place called ‘Das Mile*, which means 10 miles’ upto ‘Baro Mile*, which means 12 miles’ boat point. It may take 10-20 Taka person for ride.

Bharaura Lake in Bharaura tea garden near Sreemangal is possessed by the James Finlay Co. A traveler can have a spectacular view of Lotus floating all over the lake which is the core attention of the lake. You might find some monkeys as your companions around. Left to the rail cross of the garden about 1.5 km ahead. You can observe the red hill enclosed by jackfruit trees. ভারাউড়া লেক মৌলভীবাজার জেলার শ্রীমঙ্গল উপজেলায় অবস্থিত। ভারাউড়া চা বাগানে অবস্থিত ভারাউড়া লেকটির মালিকানার অধিকারী জেমস ফিনলে কোম্পানি। এই লেকের মূল আকর্ষণ হল লেকের সর্বত্র ফুটে থাকা পদ্মফুল যা বহুগুনে লেকের সৌন্দর্য বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছে। এছাড়া এখানে আসলে পাহাড়ের গায়ে বেড়ে ওঠা কাঁঠাল গাছ দেখতে পাবেন। এসব গাছের কাছে গেলে কিছু বানরেরও দেখা পেতে পারেন আপনি। আপনাকে অবশ্যই সন্ধ্যার পূর্বেই ফিরে আসার চেষ্টা করতে হবে। হাওড় ও বিলে পরিপূর্ণ শ্রীমঙ্গলের পশ্চিমভাগকে বলা হয় হাইল হাওড়। শীতকালে এখানে অতিথি পাখির সমাগম হয়।

Upendra Sorobor (উপেন্দ্র সরোবর) is a rectangular shaped large pond that is located at the Nagarpur of Tagnail District. In English, the word 'Sorobor' means a lake. It was dug by the famous Zamindar of Nagarpur during 1381 of Bengali calendar, which is around 80 years from now. During that time the villagers needed to go far away from the home to collect water (for drinking and household works). To ease their water crisis, the generous Zamindar took initiative to dig this large water tank.

This large pond has in total 12 ghats for taking baths. The Western side's one is the biggest one and it has a false gate on there. It also has a medium sized Banyan tree on there. Lot of local visitors use to gather here during the afternoon and they use to sit under that tree.

Sorobor (সরোবর) is one of the most beautiful tourist spots in Gobindaganj under Gaibandha district. It is a natural lake. The main advantage is that Sorobor is located besides the historical place of Bardhan Kuthi (বর্ধন কুঠি). The lake is surrounded by lovely green trees. In everyday, many people come here to enjoy its natural beauty and pass sometime around this lake with family and friends. In the summer season, this place becomes busier with more crowd comparing to other seasons.

Harishchondro dighi (হরিশ চন্দ্র দিঘী) was made/built by the legendary king Harishchondro for the inhabitants of Rampal Village. It is believed that the water level of this pond remained low along the year but it gets high dramatically during the full moon especially once in a year in the Winter Season. A fair is held here around the place annually. For the local Hindu people, this pond was a sacred place. Hindu's made some rituals near this pond to set marriage of their unmarried daughters. Now this lake is used by the common people.
