How to go

It is situated in airport bypass road. From Sylhet main town you can reach there either by rickshaw or CNG auto rickshaw, heading towards Sulutikor road, Airport bypass.

You will find the above bus operators from Malibag Rail-gate, Razarbag or Sayedabad bus stand. These services are available from 6:30 am to 11:30 pm.

Bangladesh Biman, NovoAir, United Airways and Regent Airways are the four operators who fly from Dhaka to sylhet. The ticket price starts from 3000 taka & it goes up to 8000 taka per pax. There are more than 10 flights every day from morning to evening.

There are four train services from Dhaka to sylhet. They are Joyontika, Parabat and Upoban depart at morning, noon and evening. There is a new train named Kalini depart at afternoon from Dhaka. It takes 7-8 hours to reach sylhet.The ticket price is around 295 for shovon-chair & it gets 679 taka for 1st class AC.

Arshinagar Park and mini zoo is next to Narsingdi Railway Station. Literally, Situated in the east side of the Railway station which was founded by late M.P. Shamsuddin Ahmed Ishwaque. There is a big banyan tree outside the park and mini zoo. Where people used to take rest after a long walk or a tiring journey. Under the tree there is a nice place of public sitting. Under this banyan tree, Late M.P. used to sit every day and listened people ' Grievances’. And after his death, he was buried under this tree. His graveyard is nicely decorated with shiny tiles.

To the North of this graveyard, Arshinagar park and mini zoo is located, which was built by late M.P. Shamsuddin. The entry ticket will cost 10 BDT. There you can take a look of different kinds of wild animals, birds, parrots and peacocks etc.

There is a pond inside the park which is dispersed in majority area of this spot. On the edge of this pond, there are several brick built sitting places where the visitors can sit and take a look at the natural beauty of this park. There is also a kids' zone inside the park, where the children are entertained by different kinds of riding.

নরসিংদী রেলওয়েস্টেশনের পূর্বদিকে অবস্থিত আরশিনগর উদ্যান এবং মিনিচিড়িয়াখানাটি প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন বিএনপির জনপ্রিয়নেতা এবং প্রাক্তন সংসদ সদস্য মরহুম শামসুদ্দিন আহমেদ ইসহাক (শামসু)। এই উদ্যান এবং মিনিচিড়িয়াখানার বাইরে রয়েছে একটি বড় বটগাছ। এই গাছটির নীচে চমৎকার বসার ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে যেখানে ক্লান্ত পরিশ্রান্ত মানুষজন বিশ্রাম নিয়ে থাকে। সংসদ সদস্য থাকাকালীন এই গাছের নীচে মরহুম শামসুদ্দিন আহমেদ ইসহাক প্রতিদিন বসতেন এবং মানুষের দুঃখ কষ্টের খোঁজ খবর নিতেন। মৃত্যুর পর তাকে এই বটগাছের নীচেই দাফন করা হয় এবং তার কবরটি চমৎকার টাইলস দিয়ে আবৃত করে রাখা হয়েছে। আরশিনগর উদ্যান এবং মিনিচিড়িয়াখানাটি তার কবরের উত্তরদিকে অবস্থিত।

এই উদ্যান এবং মিনি চিড়িয়াখানায় প্রবেশ করতে আপনাকে ১০/- টাকা প্রবেশমূল্য দিতে হবে। আপনি এখানকার মিনি চিড়িয়াখানায় বিভিন্ন রকমের পশুপাখির দেখা পাবেন। এই উদ্যানের অভ্যন্তর জুড়ে একটি পুকুর রয়েছে যেটির পাড়ে ইট দিয়ে বাঁধানো বসার ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে। দর্শনার্থীরা এখানে বসে উদ্যানের প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য উপভোগ করতে পারেন।

এই উদ্যানে শিশুদের জন্য একটি পৃথক স্থান রয়েছে যেখানে বিভিন্ন রকমের রাইডে চড়ে শিশুরা চমৎকার সময় উপভোগ করতে পারবে।

Nazimgarh 'Nature Park' is located on the banks of the Sharee River at Lalakhal, a picturesque place at the base of the Jaintia Hills bordering the Indian State of Meghalaya. The 'Sharee' originates at a height of 1420 meters (4650 feet) from a place called Mitimyntdu, close to Jowai town of the West Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya. There, the river is known as Myntdu or "Ka Tawiarka Takam" (Our Guardian Angel) in the local Pnar (Khasi) dialect.

Encircling Jowai town on three sides, the Myntdu flows south through Leshka valley to reach Borghat village within Jaintia Hills before entering Bangladesh as the 'Sharee' at Lalakhal.

The river brings from the hills much sand and other minerals that give the waters a unique blue-green colour. While in the dry season the river is mild, its crystal clear water of an emerald colour, in the rainy season it become a raging torrent, at times over flowing its banks. Around 1340 AD, Ibne Battuta of Morocco, one of the gratest travelers of all time, is said to have travelled down this 'blue' river on his return journey after visiting Hazrat Shah Jalal in Sylhet.

'Nature Park' is on the banks of the river Sharee, near its sister resort 'Wilderness' which is located on the hillside. The 'River Queen' restaurant is the focal point with its panoramic view following the bend in the river. The 'Adventure Camp' tent site is nearby, under the shade of the surrounding trees. These comfortable tents give guests a sense of nature and adventure rarely available in other places. The clear night sky allows one to see stars with a clarity that needs to be experienced to be truly believed. It is Nature in its purest form.

{:}{:bn}নাজিমগড় ন্যাচারাল পার্ক সিলেটের লালাখালে সারি নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত। ভারতের মেঘালয় রাজ্যে সীমান্তবর্তী জৈন্তা পাহাড়ের পাদদেশে ছবির মত সুন্দর লালাখালের সারি নদীর তীরে নাজিমগড়ের ‘ন্যাচার পার্কটি’ অবস্থিত। সারি নদীর উৎপত্তি হয়েছে মেঘালয় রাজ্যের পশ্চিম জৈন্তা হিল ডিসট্রিক্টের জোয়াই শহরের কাছে অবস্থিত মিতিমইন্দু নামক স্থানে প্রায় ১৪২০ মিটার (৪৬৫০ ফুট) উঁচু থেকে। এখানে এই নদীটি খাসিদের ভাষায় মিন্দু অথবা “কা তাউইরকা তাকাম” (যার অর্থ আমাদের দেবদূত অভিভাবক) নামে পরিচিত। জোয়াই শহরকে তিনদিক থেকে ঘিরে থাকা মিন্দু নদীটি বাংলাদেশের লালাখালে সারি নদী হিসেবে প্রবেশের পূর্বে লেসকা ভ্যালীর মধ্যে দিয়ে দক্ষিন দিকে প্রবাহিত হয়ে জৈন্তা পাহাড়ের মধ্য দিয়ে বোরঘাট গ্রামে পৌঁছেছে। পাহাড় থেকে সারি নদীর সাথে প্রচুর বালু এবং অন্যান্য খনিজ সম্পদ বয়ে আসার কারনে এই নদীর পানি নীল ও সবুজ রঙের সমন্বয়ে এক অপূর্ব বর্ণ ধারন করেছে। শুকনো মৌসুমে এই নদীটি শান্ত থাকে এবং এটির স্বচ্ছ পানি সবুজ রঙ ধারন করে। অথচ আবার বর্ষাকালে এই নদীটি এতটাই অশান্ত হয়ে ওঠে যে কখনো কখনো নদীর তীর প্লাবিত হয়ে যায়। আনুমানিক ১৩৪০ সালে বিশ্বের অন্যতম নামকরা পর্যটক মরক্কোর ইবনে বতুতা সিলেটে হযরত শাহজালাল (রঃ) এর সাথে সাক্ষাৎ করে ফেরার পথে এই ‘নীল’ নদীটি অতিক্রম করেছিলেন। এই উদ্যানের অন্যতম আকর্ষণ হল ‘রিভার কুইন’ রেস্টুরেন্ট যেখান থেকে নদীর বাঁকের চমৎকার মনোরম দৃশ্য উপভোগ করা যায়। এই রেস্টুরেন্টের কাছে গাছের ছায়ায় রয়েছে ‘অ্যাডভেঞ্চার ক্যাম্পের’ তাঁবু। আরামদায়ক এসব তাঁবুতে অতিথিরা একদিকে প্রকৃতির কাছাকাছি আসতে পারবেন আবার পাশাপাশি অ্যাডভেঞ্চারও করতে পারবেন। এখানকার রাতের পরিষ্কার আকাশে আপনি তারাদের দেখতে পারবেন যা এখানে এসে নিজ চোখে না দেখলে বিশ্বাস করতে পারবেন না। এক কথায় বলা যায় যে প্রকৃতি তার বিশুদ্ধতম রুপে এখানে আবির্ভূত হয়েছে। সূত্র: www.nazimgarh.com{:} ) [3] => Array ( [name] => Sir J.C.
