Shivbari Temple, around a hundred years old, is one of the top historical places in Barisal Division. Every year, in this temple, on 14th of Falguni month, massive celebrations go on for three days with different puja programs and fairs. At the first day of this festival, people conduct a congregated worship in accordance to the Hindu religion.
On the next two days, the colorful carnivals continue by following religious customs and traditions. Although it is primarily a ritual practiced by the Hindu people, both Hindus and Muslims participate in the Fair. There is a Zamindar Bari just near to this temple.

কিভাবে যাবেন
Shivbari Temple and Zamindar Bari is located in Jhalakathi Sadar Upazila, 232 km away from Dhaka city. From the gate of Jhalakathi Upazila, you can take a rickshaw/auto to reach Kheyaghat. From there, you have to take a trawler to cross the river and then by a road vehicle (CNG/motorcycle) you can get to the Shivbari in the village named Ponabalia.

১। এমভি টিপু- ঢাকার সদরঘাট থেকে ছেড়ে যায় সন্ধ্যা ৭:৩০ মিনিটে, ঝালকাঠিতে পৌঁছে পরদিন ভোর ৫ টা থেকে সকাল ৭ টার মধ্যে, ঝালকাঠি থেকে ঢাকার উদ্দেশ্য ছেড়ে যায় সন্ধ্যা ৬ টায় এবং ঢাকায় পৌঁছে পরদিন ভোর ৫ টা থেকে সকাল ৭ টার মধ্যে, ভাড়াঃ ডেকে-১৩০/- টাকা, সিঙ্গেল কেবিন ৮০০/- টাকা, ডবল কেবিন ১৫০০/- টাকা। ফোনঃ ০১৭২১৯৭৮৬৫২
২। সুন্দরবন- এমভি টিপু এবং এই লঞ্চটির ভাড়া এবং যাতায়াতের সময়সূচী এক। এই লঞ্চটি মাসের জোড় তারিখে ঝালকাঠি থেকে ছেড়ে আসে এবং মাসের বেজোড় তারিখে ঢাকা থেকে ঝালকাঠির উদ্দেশে ছেড়ে যায়। ফোনঃ ০১৭১২৮১১০৯২
ঢাকা থেকে ঝালকাঠিতে চলাচলকারী স্টিমারগুলোর মধ্যে আছেঃ
১। টি এস মাসুদঃ ঢাকার সদরঘাট থেকে প্রতি সোম এবং বৃহস্পতিবার ছেড়ে যায় সন্ধ্যা ৬ টায় এবং ঝালকাঠিতে পৌঁছে পরদিন ভোর ৫ টা থেকে সকাল ৮ টার মধ্যে, ঝালকাঠি থেকে ঢাকার উদ্দেশ্য প্রতি মঙ্গলবার এবং শুক্রবার ছেড়ে যায় বিকাল ৪টায় এবং ঢাকায় পৌঁছে পরদিন ভোর ৫ টা থেকে সকাল ৮ টার মধ্যে, ভাড়াঃ ডেকে-১০০/- টাকা, সিঙ্গেল কেবিন (প্রথম শ্রেণী)-৬৫৫/- টাকা, ডবল কেবিন (প্রথম শ্রেণী)-১৩১০/- টাকা, সিঙ্গেল কেবিন (দ্বিতীয় শ্রেণী)- ৩৯৫/- টাকা, ডবল কেবিন (দ্বিতীয় শ্রেণী)-৭৯০/- টাকা।

৩। টি এস লেপচা – এই স্টিমারটির ভাড়া এবং যাতায়াতের সময়সূচী টিএস মাসুদ এবং টিএস অস্ত্রিচের মতই। শুধুমাত্র টিএস লেপচা প্রতি সোমবার এবং বৃহস্পতিবার ঝালকাঠি থেকে ছেড়ে আসে এবং প্রতি রবিবার এবং বুধবার ঢাকা থেকে ছেড়ে যায়।

There are a few restaurants along highway road and in the local markets, most serving Bangladeshi standards. But expectations regarding food should not be high.
