Brief
There are some few islands in the Mighty River Meghna. Locally these islands are called “Char” (চর). From Narsingdi to Chandpur, several chars are seen in the Meghna.
In Narayanganj-Munshiganj area (Sonargaon-Gozaria) there is seen three different islands. Locally they are named Char Balaki (বালাকি), Saydabad (সায়দাবাদ) or Gucchogram (গুচ্ছগ্রাম) and Nuner Tek (নুনের টেক). In Bangla, “tek” means some place isolated by water. Lalpuri Dorbar Sharif Complex is situated at Nuner Tek.
Lalpuri Shah was a preacher of Islam. When he came in this land no one can say exactly. People believe that the man had spiritual power to cure problems or illness. His actual date of demise is still unknown. Followers of him made a dorgah beside his tomb. Recently by the donation of people, a mosque with a tall minaret has made.
The island is isolated. Trawlers commute on scheduled time only on day time. But anyone can visit the place if he is willing to visit sonargaon. Trawlers go there in half an hour interval so anyone can go and after spending 30 minutes can return with the next trawler.

Lamarpara Khyang is located on the bank of the Bakkhali River that flows past the Fatekharkul union of Ramu Pourasova, 1 km. south of Ramu Chowmohony Bus-station. The Lamarpara Kyang was built in the first decade of the 19th century by Mr. Thu Aung Gyaw Chowdhury, one of the celebrities of Ramu. The brass image of the Lord Buddha set up on a marble pedestal inside the temple is the second biggest of its king in Bangladesh, the image of the Lord Buddha unearthed in the palace of Bhoj Raja in Comilla being the biggest one.
The artistry of all the structures of the temple complex made of Burma-teak is likely to elate one with wonder. Almost all the Kyangs are of the same pattern and house hundreds of big and small images of the Buddha. There are about twenty three such Khyangs in Ramu only. Except Kutubdia, there are such Kyangs in all other thanas of the district. The Bara Khyang or the big Khyang of Haitopi deserves special mention.

Dasbari Mosque is located close to Ompur in between Sona mosque and Kotowali Dorja. Generations of local people say it as Dasbari. It is an abandoned place now. According to an inscription in 1497 during the reign of Sultan Shamsuddin Yousuf this mosque was built.
No explanations are found regarding how this mosque was named. It is modeled after the Chamchika mosque in India. Like Dasbari this mosque is built with terracotta bricks. Its circumference is so thick that during the month of Chaitra when it is so hot outside but it remains cool inside. The main dome here looks pretty attractive. North to the mosque there is a Dighi whose volume is 60 bigha.

Name of the mosque is Kutub Shahi Mosque (কুতুব শাহী মসজিদ). This is basically a five dome mosque. One larger dome is at the center, and other four domes are near at the corner of the mosque. This is a rectangular shaped mosque and typical smaller one. That's why all the domes atop are jammed together.
Central dome of the Kutub Shah Mosque (কুতুব শাহী মসজিদ) is slightly semi spherical shaped and the other four domes are the shape of oval (half of the oval). Each of the domes are having upside down like flowering ornate at the top.
There is a doubt available between the scholars regarding the building period of the mosque. Some believe its 16th century and some believe it’s from 17th century. Whatever it is, the mosque was built by a saint named Kutub Shah (কুতুব শাহ), and the name of the mosque is taken after him. His grave is located exactly beside the mosque along with other of his companions (locals’ assumption).

Nearly 100 years old Shiv-Kali Temple is situated at Bojrojogini Bazar in Munshiganj District. It was established in 1345 Bengali Year by a local merchant. Few years back the temple was attacked by some extremists and they occurred some damages. The main name plate was hit by a shovel and one of its corner was broken. Now one part of the temple is almost broken but the main part is repaired by the local Hindu community. There was a large shiva lingam was there which was taken by the government and now displayed in the National Museum in Shahbag.
The devotee Chandra Shil said, now the temple will receive some non-government funding to keep it running.
