The previous history of BAF Museum: BAF Museum was established in 17 June 1987. At that time the museum was located in No-3 hanger of BAF Base Bashar, Dhaka cantonment. It was not open for public as we knew, just like the prison museum situated inside the Dhaka Central Jail. Once in a year on 16th December, there was a Military March held along with a three days long Army Weaponry Show. But now it is open for the public visitor. People are already started enjoying the place.

On the way of BDR camp of Bijoypur, you'll find a monument. This monument was built for remembering the courageous sacrifice of Hajong Roshimoni (হাজং রশিমনি). She was killed during the Tonk Andolon (টনক আন্দোলন). The GPS coordinate of the monument is (25° 9'27.72"N, 90°39'32.31"E).
That event was actually taking position against the barbarian ruler of that area. The Shushong King/Zamindar (সুসংগ রাজা/জমিদার) was the owner of all lands and local people were only allowed to cultivate there. They were forced to pay a portion from their crops, no matter how good or bad the harvest is. This cruel rule just crippled the farmers economically. So they have decided to stand against the ruler under the banner of Hajong Roshimoni (হাজং রশিমনি) who was later killed.
The monument is simple in design and may not be an attractive structure to you, but if you know the history behind, you may find this interesting. The book Bangladesher Krishoker Shongram (বাংলাদেশের কৃষকের সংগ্রাম) by Shotten Sen (সত্যেন সেন) has more detail about this courageous lady.

Lalmonirhat Airbase of World War is located between Lalmonirhat district and Mahendra Nagar. It is a place involved the memory of the 2nd world war. In the time of 2nd world war the fighter planes discharge bombs in many place of Bangla as Kolkata and Asam in 1942. For saving the east side of India to set up a military deployment the place named "Chinir Elaka" is choosed. Cinir pathar is only 2 miles distance from Lalmonirhat railway station and in the east side of Mahendra nagar railway station, it is a place of 4 square mile in area. It’s a place of jungle which is now included in Mahendra nagar and Harati council. According to the time of 2nd world war it is only the safe place for the ally side to save Asam and east side. In 14th August, 1945 after the war finished the soldiers of ally side started to come back in their own states. With this popularly known as the 2nd largest plane station closed slowly.
Again in 1958 here plane service began. From Lalmonirhat to Dhaka the rent was 45 taka. That time Lalmonirhat to Dhaka the rent was in Rail was 22 taka. Because of being as double rent the corporation usually have to conveyance with empty plane. Once the station was closed. In 1965 all planes are sold by Pakistan government after the Indian attack.
After becoming free in 1972 a decision was took to make it the head quarter of aircraft. But this decision could not be able to come true. Now a unit of aircraft is here.
