Brief

Tarekeshwar Shiv Mandir is located in Natore Rajbari, near to small palace building (ছোট তরফ). This temple is as popularly known as Tarekeshwar Shiv Mandir, but the established name is Sree Sree Baba Tarekeshwar Shiv Mandir. Although this temple was established by Tara Sundari, daughter of Ordhorongeshwari Moharani Bhabani (অরধরঙ্গেশ্বরী মহারানী ভবানী); This old temple represents the ancient Indian architecture of the then King Shivnath Roy, the second son of the Great King Ram Krishno. Everyday many people come here to observe this ancient architecture. Also, people of Hindu religion come here to vow and worship to their god, Lord Shiva and offer deity.

Not only the Shiv Temple, there is also a structure of Snake with five heads named Ponchonag, statue of Lord Hanuman, and statue of Lord Shiv and Sree Krishna. People also worship before these structures to fulfill their desire. There is pond named Tarekeshwari just beside the temple, named after the temple.

How to go

To visit this place, you need to come to Natore Sadar. After reaching at Natore Sadar, take rickshaw to visit Natore Rajbari. After entering into Natore Rajbari, you can find this temple just on your left.

Temple of Joya Ram is located in Jowari (জোয়ারী) villege. Promothonath Bishi, The prominent literary of the then Indian Sub-continent, was born in this village. This temple is just beside the House of Jowari Bishi. This temple was built with this house at the same time. So, the both was considered to be the oldest buildings in that area, built around 150 years ago as the local said.

Now a days, this temple almost became a ruin. Trees and bushes are everywhere surrounding the temple. Although recently, the local people cleared the whole mess and started functioning the temple. This temple is known as Shiv Temple, for the worshipping of Lord Shiva. There is a Mandir recently the local villagers made for performing their rituals, both often and by occasion.

Maijpara Moth (মাইজপারা মঠ) belongs to 300 years old long history, situated just beside the Babu Bari dighi (large pond). During the reign of Dewan Murshid Kuli Khan, this Moth was being constructed on the grave of Zamindar Tara Prashad Ray (তারা প্রসাদ রায়) . Later in Bengali year 1212, this moth was being reconstructed.

Interviewing local folks we came to know that, this 200 feet high moth's apex was being broken by three days long rain few years ago due to the lacking in care of conservation and preservation.

At the apex there were two copper pitcher being torn down lately and a rumor spread that there were some very precious treasure inside of it. Local people gathered to see. Sreenagar Thana police brought those to the police station. After cutting the pitcher with the help of oxygen Gas cutter, they found some sort of limes & brick mortars inside of it.

If you come to see "Baro Awliar Mazar" (বারো আওলিয়ার মাজার) in Tetultola, Munshiganj Sadar then after leaving you will turn out to a place called Chowdhury Bari. Here you will see a beautiful but abandoned Hindu Moth named as Chowdhury Bari Moth which was sometimes used as a temple.

The Grave of Twelve Awlia is situated at Mohakali Union in Munshiganj Sadar. The Union Complex is situated at Chowdhury Bazar and the abandoned Moth/Hindu Temple is called Chowdhury Bari Moth.

Munshiganj is a district of many Hindu Moths. Most of them are established near or more than 150 years ago. The moth may be abandoned but the architectural beauty like wall drawing/terracotta is still very beautiful. Another remarkable thing is that there are plenty of birds making the place as their nests. So, almost all the time you will hear birds humming. Parrots are seen rarely in the town area but in Hindu Moths, a lots of Parrots are seen chirping.

The great "Rajaram Mandir" which is located at the Khalia village from Tekerhat, Madaripur. If you are from Dhaka, then Tekerhat will be before the Madaripur town. Or if you are Madaripur, then it will be beside the Dhaka highway. Tekerhat is a landmark from Madaripur, actually this is under the Rajoir Upazila. Also for your information, the temple is near the "Peace Center" of Khalia. If you find it’s hard to locate the temple, then just ask people nearby about the Old Temple around. They can show you the path.

This is a two stored temple, and Bangladesh government taken control of this and promulgate this as the Archaeological heritage of the country. It’s not known when the temple was built. From the name, its easily guess that, it was built by someone rich person Rajaram. This lovely temple has noticeable number of terracotta on the wall and the pillar. The experts used to say the images from the temple actually depict some portion of the Mahabharat and Ramayan. If you are an archaeological heritage lover, then it’s a must visit place for you.

দোতলা এই মন্দিরটির নিয়ন্ত্রন বাংলাদেশ সরকার গ্রহন করে এটিকে পুরাকীর্তি নিদর্শন হিসেবে ঘোষণা করেছে। কবে মন্দিরটি নির্মিত হয়েছিল তা জানা না গেলেও এটির নাম থেকে প্রতীয়মান হয় যে রাজারাম নামে কোন এক ধনাঢ্য ব্যাক্তি মন্দিরটি নির্মাণ করেছিলেন। মন্দিরটির দেয়াল এবং পিলারে টেরাকোটার কাজ পরিলক্ষিত হয়। বিশেষজ্ঞদের মতে মন্দিরে অঙ্কিত চিত্রগুলো মহাভারত এবং রামায়নের কিছু অংশকে বর্ণনা করছে। আপনি যদি পুরাকীর্তি নিদর্শন পছন্দ করেন তবে এই মন্দিরে আপনাকে আসতেই হবে।
