Brief

Tarekeshwar Shiv Mandir is located in Natore Rajbari, near to small palace building (ছোট তরফ). This temple is as popularly known as Tarekeshwar Shiv Mandir, but the established name is Sree Sree Baba Tarekeshwar Shiv Mandir. Although this temple was established by Tara Sundari, daughter of Ordhorongeshwari Moharani Bhabani (অরধরঙ্গেশ্বরী মহারানী ভবানী); This old temple represents the ancient Indian architecture of the then King Shivnath Roy, the second son of the Great King Ram Krishno. Everyday many people come here to observe this ancient architecture. Also, people of Hindu religion come here to vow and worship to their god, Lord Shiva and offer deity.

Not only the Shiv Temple, there is also a structure of Snake with five heads named Ponchonag, statue of Lord Hanuman, and statue of Lord Shiv and Sree Krishna. People also worship before these structures to fulfill their desire. There is pond named Tarekeshwari just beside the temple, named after the temple.

How to go

To visit this place, you need to come to Natore Sadar. After reaching at Natore Sadar, take rickshaw to visit Natore Rajbari. After entering into Natore Rajbari, you can find this temple just on your left.

Vatodara Shiv Mandir (ভাটোদাড়া শিব মন্দির) is located in Dighapatia near the Dighapatia Rajbari. This temple was established near a 100 years ago, as the local says. Whereas, Vatodara Kalibari, mainly uses for worshipping in various occasions, was built recently. In various occasions like Durga Puja or Kali Puja, people from Hindu religion of this locality greatly celebrate their rituals here. Although, Vatdara Shiv Mandir remains almost dysfunctional and out of care, people of the area largely come and worship in Kalibari.

Ram Krishna Mission of Bijoypur will be on the left side of the road during your ride towards the BDR camp. You can pass your few minutes at that place by holding your rickshaw or motorbike.

There are several buildings exist inside the premise including a temple. Also a medium sized pond is available in front of the temple.

The place is famous for the annual fair held in the month of Phalgun according to the Bengali Calendar. The fair takes place at the foot of the Mainak Hill and lasts for 13 days. Thousands of Hindus participate here from all over Bangladesh.

Adinath Temple is located on the summit of the Mainak Hill on Maheshkhali Island off the coast of Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, is dedicated to the Hindu God, Shiva, who is worshiped as Adinath.

The Adinath temple clearly shows in its construction the association of the Natha community. The temple is 6 m high and measures 10.5 m × 9.75 m; the inner walls are 1.05 m thick, while outer walls are 0.60 m thick. There are three parts; the northern part, which is older, contains two square rooms (3.35 m each side) for worship – the eastern one has the image of Adinatha Banalinga Shiva and the western one has the image of eight-armed Durga (Idol).

There is no authentic proof to connect Gorakhghata or the temple with Goraksanatha, the guru of the Natha community. It may be that one of the disciples of Goraksanatha may have named the ghat at Maheshkhali after the guru. Natha philosophy evolved out of the long association of the Saivites with the Buddhists and in the 10th-11th centuries emerged Tantric Shastras. Adinatha (variants Matsyendranatha or Minanatha) emerged through this process of evolution. Nathism represents the folk religion of Bengal based on mantra-tantra and asceticism.

The entrance is bow-shaped, while the entrances on the northern and southern sides have been closed with brickwork. There are two windows, one on the east and the other on the west side. The two rooms are covered with domes on pendentives. The finials on top are decorated with lotus, kalasa and chakra. The tops of the octagonal pillars have kalasa and twined scrolls. The top of the arch on the western side has floral and the eastern one has trixul decoration. There are two niches on the southern wall. The second and third parts of the temple are recent additions.

আদিনাথ মন্দির কক্সবাজার জেলার মহেশখালী উপজেলায় অবস্থিত। আদিনাথ মন্দিরটি কক্সবাজার জেলার মহেশখালী দ্বীপের মাইনাক পাহাড়ের উপরে অবস্থিত। এই মন্দিরে হিন্দু দেবতা শিবকে আদিনাথ হিসেবে পূজা করা হয়।

প্রতিবছর বাংলা ফাল্গুন মাসে এখানে মাইনাক পাহাড়ের পাদদেশে ১৩ দিনব্যাপি মেলা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। বাংলাদেশের বিভিন্ন স্থান থেকে আগত হিন্দু পুন্যারথীরা মেলায় অংশ নিয়ে থাকেন।

Maijpara Moth (মাইজপারা মঠ) belongs to 300 years old long history, situated just beside the Babu Bari dighi (large pond). During the reign of Dewan Murshid Kuli Khan, this Moth was being constructed on the grave of Zamindar Tara Prashad Ray (তারা প্রসাদ রায়) . Later in Bengali year 1212, this moth was being reconstructed.

Interviewing local folks we came to know that, this 200 feet high moth's apex was being broken by three days long rain few years ago due to the lacking in care of conservation and preservation.

At the apex there were two copper pitcher being torn down lately and a rumor spread that there were some very precious treasure inside of it. Local people gathered to see. Sreenagar Thana police brought those to the police station. After cutting the pitcher with the help of oxygen Gas cutter, they found some sort of limes & brick mortars inside of it.
