Brief

Boga Lake, also known as Bagakain (বগাকাইন) Lake, is the most beautiful natural lake in Bangladesh. It is 18 km away from Ruma Sadar Upazila in Bandarban. The area of this lake is about 15 acres. It is approximately 1800 feet above sea level. The color of its water is blue. Behind creation of this lake there are many mythological stories. Many tourist visit Boga lake mostly during winter. Localities of small tribe community like Bawm, Khumi can be found besides the Boga Lake. Strolling becomes difficult in the rainy season.

The road from Ruma to Boga Lake is still under construction. You might be amazed looking at the big rocks lying in and out of the Boga Lake. You can have a camp fire beside the lake which might be an unbelievable and mind-blowing memory in your life.

How to go

You have to make a trip from Bandarban to Ruma by “Chander Gari” (public jeep) or a private vehicle. From Ruma you can hire public jeep upto Boga Lake. You can also walk to Boga Lake in winter season. It will require 6 hours to reach Boga Lake.

How To Reach: Bandarban District

Dhaka and Bandarban are linked by road. There are direct bus services available from Dhaka to reach Bandarban.

There are no direct flight services available from Dhaka to Bandarban. However, you can travel to Chittagong by air and then take a bus or private car to reach Bandarban. Bangladesh Biman, United Airways, Regent Airways and Novo Air, all provide flight services to Chittagong.

Hakaluki Haor is a marsh wetland ecological system of Eastern Bangladesh in an area bordering Assam, India. It is one of Bangladesh's largest and one of Asia's larger marsh wetland resources. Some 190,000 people live in the surrounding Hakaluki Haor area.

Hakaluki Haor was designated an Ecologically Critical Area (ECA). It’s also a protected Ramsar site of international importance for the conservation and sustainable utilization of wetlands.

The surface area of Hakaluki Haor is 181.15 km2, of which 72.46 km2 (40.01%) is within the territory of Barlekha Upazila. The Haor is partly under the jurisdiction of Barlekha Upazila.

Away from panchagar town about 10 miles a big pond is situated at Amarkhana unionis popularly known as Maharajar dighi. With the bank its surface is 800 yard. Local people says that its depth is 40 feet. Its water is clear. It has 10 saghata.It is imagined that Pitthu king dag this lake. It is said that the king attacked by a lower class and suicide with family and wealth by jumping in this lake. Every year Boishakhi fair held at the bank of the river. Pocha Dighi and Ghora Dighi have own historical and religious significance toward the villagers. The crocodiles in the pond never will harm you even if you touch them. Here many people used to come every day in a way to make their wish fulfilled. As a result many gifts were given by them. The belief of them is high with that. So many wish have already been fulfilled. There used be a fair in almost every day. Different types of local items can be found here to shop.
