Brief

The waterfall named Shoilo Propat at Milanchhari, is 4 km away from the town on the road to Thanchi. Shoilo Propat is one of the most visited natural falls in Bangladesh. During the rainy season the flow of this fall becomes vigorous. The water of this fall is chilly and transparent. Near the Shoilo Propat 2-3 villages have grown up for the availability of water. It is a good source for drinking water and household use for the local community. There is a small market near the Shoilo Propat for trading local people’s handicrafts, hand loom products and food. You can closely see the struggling lifestyle of this regions community.

How to go

After reaching at Bandarban, take local transport to reach that waterfall in Thanchi Upazila. So you can hire a private jeep or auto rickshaw to go there.

There are no direct flight services available from Dhaka to Bandarban. However, you can travel to Chittagong by air and then take a bus or private car to reach Bandarban. Bangladesh Biman, United Airways, Regent Airways and Novo Air, all provide flight services to Chittagong.

You can watch golden sunset in the evening and also enjoy evergreen moonlight at night. It is foggy in the morning during the whole winter season.

Bangladesh is a land of beauty, and it is blessed with boundless natural wonders. Pukur Para Jhorna or Waterfall is just one such wonder. This country has several waterfalls scattered all around. The waterfall is located in the Bilaichhori Thana of Rangamati district. To reach the waterfall, you need to use the trekking routes from Bandarban. FYI, it is just few hundred meter from the Bandarban district's border.

This waterfall is currently the widest waterfall from Bangladesh. It has a width of approximately 80 meters and a height of 4-6 feet on an average. During the rainy season, you will not be able to see any stones from the waterfall. The only thing visible is the cascade of water, fresh and beautiful. Some people call this place the "Niagara of Bangladesh". If you walk alongside the stream, it takes around 40-50 minutes to reach at the bottom of the waterfall stream. Except during the rainy season, the path is in good condition, but during rainy season, it is advised to not walk that road as the slippery path is a serious life risk.

This waterfall starts from the water of Raikhong Canal and the water finally ends up in the great Kaptai Lake. Some people used to call this Raikhong River and in line with the name of the Canal/River, some people used to call this waterfall the Raikhong Waterfall. For your information, it is called Pukur Para Waterfall, because there is a village near the waterfall named Pukurpara.

Trekkers used to create a make-shift shelter at Pukur Para village and only visits the waterfall for a few hours. But if you make your trip a bit wisely, you can set few tents around the waterfall during summer or winter for nighttime camp out. There are numerous dry and clean places around the waterfall for your camping. Just imagine sleeping beside a waterfall at night; the sound of the rushing water, a full moon & a sky full of stars away from all the hustle and bustle of the city, absolute bliss.

In Bangladesh, most of the people used to visit Porikunda Waterfall during the dry season, and they found this is of much interesting place for visiting. Few people know about Porikunda Waterfall. However, those who already have visited the Madhabkunda waterfall and still do not know that there is another waterfall inside the "Madhabkunda Echo Park". Porikunda falls is just before the Madhabkunda falls.

However, it is inside in the Eco Park towards the Madhabkunda falls, which is why people do not get it. During dry season, this falls used to keep dormant which can be another reason and it is only alive during Monsoon. Although the height is around 150 meter, Porikunda falls looks much taller because of gradual steepness from bottom to top. The depth of water is not that much great, but it used to spread its water over the stones when falling down.

If you find it difficult to locate the Porikunda falls, just ask someone who works inside the echo park. They will show you the path. You have to walk through the infertile path over the stream of the waterfalls. Also you cannot skip to get your dresses are wet. Finally be careful, because any moment you can get slipped, and get yourself hurt.

Some people think, this waterfall is more beautiful from the main one, the Madhabkunda falls for its silence (except drops of water). People don't used to come there (because they don't know). No chaos from the other tourists (which is available near the Madhabkunda falls). Porikunda falls is much taller, and the amount of water is not that much great, but it used to spread its water over the stones when falling down. And that just gave an outstanding beauty to the waterfalls.

{:}{:bn}পরিকুণ্ড ঝর্ণা মৌলভীবাজার জেলার বড়লেখা উপজেলায় মাধবকুণ্ড জলপ্রপাতের নিকটে অবস্থিত। যারা ইতিমধ্যেই মাধবকুণ্ডের জলপ্রপাত দেখতে গিয়েছেন তাদের অনেকেরই জানা নেই যে মাধবকুণ্ড ইকো পার্কের অভ্যন্তরে আরেকটি ঝর্ণা রয়েছে। মাধবকুণ্ড জলপ্রপাতের ঠিক আগেই অবস্থিত পরিকুণ্ড ঝর্ণাটি তাই অনেকের কাছেই অচেনা। বর্ষাকাল ছাড়া অন্যান্য মৌসুমে এই ঝর্ণাটি শুকিয়ে যায়। পরিকুণ্ড ঝর্ণা খুঁজে পেতে অসুবিধা হলে পার্কের অভ্যন্তরে কাউকে জিজ্ঞেস করুন, তারাই আপনাকে পথ চিনিয়ে দেবে। এই ঝর্ণায় পৌছাতে হলে আপনাকে প্রবাহিত পানির ওপর দিয়ে অমসৃণ পথে হাঁটতে হবে তাই এসময় আপনার জামা কাপড় ভিজতে বাধ্য। এছাড়া পিচ্ছিল পথে চলার সময় আপনাকে সাবধানে পা ফেলতে হবে অন্যথায় যেকোন মুহূর্তে পিছলে পড়ে আপনি আঘাত পেতে পারেন। অনেকে মনে করেন যে এখানকার নীরবতার কারনে এই ঝর্ণাটি মাধবকুণ্ডের মূল জলপ্রপাতের চেয়ে বেশি সুন্দর। অজ্ঞতার কারনে এখানে মানুষজন খুব একটা না আশায় এই নীরবতা বজায় থাকে (মাধবকুণ্ডের জলপ্রপাতটি পর্যটকদের ভিড়ে পরিপূর্ণ থাকে)। প্রায় ১৫০ মিটার উঁচু এই ঝর্ণাটি নীচ থেকে উপরে বেশ খাড়া হওয়ায় এটিকে মাধবকুণ্ডের জলপ্রপাতের চাইতে উঁচু মনে হয়। এই ঝর্ণায় পানির পরিমান ও গভীরতা কম হলেও পাথরের ওপর পানি পরার পর অনেক দূর পর্যন্ত ছড়িয়ে যায় আর এ কারনেই এই ঝর্ণার সৌন্দর্য বহুগুন বেড়ে যায়।{:} ) [2] => Array ( [name] => Himchhari Waterfall [post_id] => 1311 [post_link] => http://offroadbangladesh.com/places/himchhari-waterfall/ [thumb_link] => http://offroadbangladesh.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Himchhari-Waterfall-by-roymonotosh-237x300.jpg [post_content] =>

Many attractions are for the tourists around Cox's Bazar. You can go Himchhari to see its Waterfall, this is famous for waterfall, though in the winter season it dwindles but during the rainy season it's really a fabulous and full waterfall can be enjoyed.

Himchhari is a beautiful picnic spot surrounded by palm trees and bamboos. Himchhari is transformed into a colorful and fascinating panorama when the winter sun rises above hilltops and sets in the blue sea. It is only eight miles away from Cox’s Bazar town. A trip by jeep to Himchhari along the sea-beach at dawn is a rewarding experience. These charms attract the holiday makers to visit this picnic spot in large number.

Himchhari is just around 5 kilometers apart from the main town. You can reach at that place by any kind of vehicles. To enter the area, you'll need to buy tickets. Which is around 20 taka. There is only two place that you can enjoy at the park, one is the falls, and another one is the top of the hill.
