Brief

The waterfall named Shoilo Propat at Milanchhari, is 4 km away from the town on the road to Thanchi. Shoilo Propat is one of the most visited natural falls in Bangladesh. During the rainy season the flow of this fall becomes vigorous. The water of this fall is chilly and transparent. Near the Shoilo Propat 2-3 villages have grown up for the availability of water. It is a good source for drinking water and household use for the local community. There is a small market near the Shoilo Propat for trading local people’s handicrafts, hand loom products and food. You can closely see the struggling lifestyle of this regions community.

How to go

After reaching at Bandarban, take local transport to reach that waterfall in Thanchi Upazila. So you can hire a private jeep or auto rickshaw to go there.

There are no direct flight services available from Dhaka to Bandarban. However, you can travel to Chittagong by air and then take a bus or private car to reach Bandarban. Bangladesh Biman, United Airways, Regent Airways and Novo Air, all provide flight services to Chittagong.

You can watch golden sunset in the evening and also enjoy evergreen moonlight at night. It is foggy in the morning during the whole winter season.

Nafa-khum Waterfall (Bengali: নাফাখুম) is located in Thanchi Upazila of Bandarban on the Sangu River. It is among the largest waterfalls in the country by volume of water falling. The wild hilly river Sangu suddenly falls down here about 25–30 feet.

The falls are located in a remote area three hours' walking distance from Remakri, Thanchi Upazila, Bandarban District. Remakri is located three hours by boat on the Sangu River from Tindu, which is itself three hours by boat from Thanchi. Nafa-khum is not very popular as a tourist destination.

The word "Khum" in Marma language means "Waterfall". A special type of flying fish, whose local name is nating, is found at the bottom in a small cave as they swim against the stream but cannot jump over the height of the fall.

Shohosrodhara falls, an another waterfall, located in 2 km walking distance from Suptadhara falls. This falls has almost no water like Suptadhara falls in the dry season. From the flow of the falls, "Suptadhara falls" is created. So it’s certain that if here is no water, you cannot expect any water at other one too.

From the top of the hill, you have to get down using the stairs to reach the bottom of the Shahasradhara falls. It’s easy to get down, but it’s a bit hard to get up. It will cost plenty of your energy. So be prepare for this.

Tamabil is on the border front of Sylhet-Shillong road, Tamabil is surrounded by beautiful nature. It is about 55 km away from Sylhet town. Rijuk Waterfall (Rijuk Jhorna) is located at Ruma Upazila of Bandarban District. The water continuously falls onto the Sangu river from about 300 feet high hill, with beautiful sound throughout the year. This water is shiny like pearl particles in the space creating a unique beauty of nature. This lake is surrounded by many kinds of plant and under wood. You can go there any time but during the rainy season the most attractive views of this fall can be seen. This awesome place will make you the most naturalistic and very close to your heart.
