Brief

Sri-Sri Madan Mahan Ziub Kali Mandir (শ্রী-শ্রী মদন মোহন জিউব কালী মন্দির) is situated at Gobindaganj Upazila under the district of Gaibandha. It is approximately half kilometer away from Raja Biratnagar. A banyan tree and pond is situated just in front of the Mandir Complex. Everyday many tourist from different places come to visit here. Specially, in the month of Boishakh a fair is celebrated here.

How to go

You have to go to Gobindaganj Upazila. Then you have to hire a CNG to go to Shorgachi. From Shorgachi, you can manage a rickshaw to go to Biratnagar.

Gurudwara Nanak Shahi (গুরুদুয়ারা নানকশাহী) is a Sikh Gurudwara in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. It is considered to be the only official Sheikh Prayer Hall in Bangladesh. It is located at the campus of the University of Dhaka and considered to be the biggest of 9 to 10 Gurdwaras in the country.

According to the commemorating, the visit of Guru Nanak (1506-1507), founder of Sikh religion, it is the most important historic place. It is said to have been built in 1830. The present building of the Gurudwara Nanak Shahi was renovated in 1988-1989. The parkarma verandah had been constructed on all four sides of the original building to provide protection. You can go there in every Friday afternoon to pay a visit and see their rituals.

He donated a land on where local business people built the Gopinath Jiu Temple. The Rath-yatra and Mela (fair) started to occur from 1905 in memory of the beloved wife of Maharaja Devroy. 7 years after that, a local rich businessman named Makhan Roy funded to made a large Rath (Replica of Mythical vehicle) made out of Brass. At that time, this was the only and largest Metal made Rath among the whole Indian subcontinent. The Rath is still placed inside the Temple and many people come here to visit the historical Rath. Handial Jagannath Temple (হান্ডিয়াল জগন্নাথ মন্দির) is an old temple located at Handial (হান্ডিয়াল) village of Chatmohor Upazila of Pabna district. As it is located at the Handial village, it is known as Handial Mandir too.

It is a single door small sized temple which was built using bricks. This temple gets narrower as it is progressing upwards. Only the front wall of the temple has some terracotta. The temple is placed over a high plinth.

From the inscription, it is found that the temple was reconstructed by someone named Bhobani Proshad during 1590. But scholars are assuming that the temple was built even another 100 years before from that time.

The whole temple premise is under a boundary. Another two newly temples are being constructed at the both side of the old temple. There is a small chariot (রথ) available inside the premise. Also, a Mondop (মন্ডপ) is available for the upcoming Hindu festival Durga Puja (দূর্গা পূজা).
