Dhaka-Tongi diversion road has connected Gazipur with Dhaka , and also Tongi – Kaligonj diversion road. There are 7 railway stations in the Gazipur district. They are: Rajendrapur, Sripur, Dhirasrom, Joydevpur, Tongi, satkhamair and Pubail.
Gazipur Town is connected through the City Bus. Pubail has city service Mohakhali to Narshingdi; called PPL(Pubail Paribahan Ltd.). And Dhaka to Kaligonj; this name is KTL, Adshy and other bus.

Chhatak Cement Factory, established in 1941, is one of the oldest industrial units in Bangladesh. Chhatak Cement Factory Ltd. manufactures cement. The company was formerly known as Assam Bengal Cement Company Limited. Chhatak Cement Factory Ltd. was founded in 1937 and is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The company operates as a subsidiary of Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation.
In order to raise production capacity from 1,35,000 tons to 2,33,000 tons, the 2nd phase of the expansion programme has been completed with financing from Asian Development Bank. The Factory uses limestone imported from Meghalaya, India and from its own quarry-Takerghat Limestone Mining Project.

Faridpur Sugar Mill is located in Modhukhali of Faridpur district. It was set up by the Government in 1974-78 at a cost of Tk. 144.55 million. The sugar mill started trial production in 1976-77.
Cane crushing capacity of Faridpur Sugar Mills is 1016 M. Tons per day and sugar production capacity is 10,160 M. Tons per annum. Since establishment, the sugar mill has produced 10,427 M. Tons of Sugar per annum on average at an average sugar recovery rate of 7.73% from sugarcane. Highest sugar production was 16,828 M. Tons in 1994-95.
