Brief
Dharma Sagor is a large pond or dighi located in Comilla town with an area of 9.38 hectare. This Dighi was excavated by Maharaj Dharma Manikya of Tripura (1714-1732) to meet the demand for water of local people. Initially, an island was there at the middle of the dighi. Comilla Stadium and Comilla Zilla School are now located on the eastern bank of the dighi.
On the other hand, Comilla Municipal Park, Rani Kutir and kazi Nazrul Islam memorial hall are on the north and Raj Devi Maternity and a Childcare Center are situated on the southeast of Dharma Sagar. These historical marks made this dighi an attractive tourist spot. This spot is visited by migratory birds in winter as well.
Dharma Sagar is a man-made pond on the heart of the city of Comilla. It is a century old pond dug by the Tripura’s King Dharma Manikya I in 1458. The pond is used for fish cultivation. There is a park beside the pond. Local residents gather and enjoy fresh air and beautiful panorama of the pond. Pavement of sides of the pond make a long pathway for walking that are enjoyed on a daily basis by local community residents.

Kaptai Lake is a beautiful blue man-made watery lake. The size of this Lake is approximately 11000 square kilometer, which was created as a reservoir when the Kaptai dam was built during the 1960. This amazing Lake was created by flooding valleys and plain lands between numerous hills all around the Lake. Kaptai has Bangladesh's only hydro-electric project. The Kaptai Dam on the Karnaphuli River created for this purpose resulted in the Kaptai Lake. This created a charming view as forested hills and plateaus rise from beneath the beautiful Lake water.
A stretch of road connects the tourist spots of Rangamati and Kaptai. The road goes deep into the hill tracts and displays the natural beauty and wildlife of the district Rangamati. The government of Bangladesh run Tourism Corporation and many private operators offer Kaptai Lake Cruise Tours, which is worth of it. Other scenic spots are also accessible through the waterways. Cruising on the Kaptai Lake is an enjoyable way of observing the landscape as many great picnic spots, natural landmarks and historic monuments are accessible only by boats.
