Brief
Shomeswari River (সোমেশ্বরী নদী), one of the most beautiful rivers of Bangladesh, located at the Netrakona (নেত্রকোনা) District. During the Birisiri (বিরিশিরি) tour, any traveler must have to meet with this river. River is shallow during winter, but fierce during rainy season for its enormous flow.
The river is created from the streams from the Garo Hill (গারো পাহাড়) at the north of our country in India. Entered at Bangladesh through the Bijoypur (বিজয়পুর) of Netrakona. The bank of the river is a bit higher compare to others from Bangladesh.
Near to the Birishiri (বিরিশিরি) town, the river segregated into two. One is called old Shomeswari (সোমেশ্বরী নদী), which later shrunk in size. The other one (new one) later joined with river Kongsho (কংশ নদী) and keep that name Kongsho (কংশ নদী) until joined with river Shurma (সুরমা নদী).
During winter, the level of the water at Shomeswari River stays very low and anyone can cross the river by walking. During rainy season, you can hire engine boat and have some boat journey. It is recommended to visit the river during rainy season to enjoy the maximum beauty.

Naf River (নাফ নদী) is the only river that is shared between Myanmar and Bangladesh. The eastern coast of the river is Arakan, state of Burma, and the western coast is Teknaf of Bangladesh.
Naf River is originated from the Arakan Hills of Myanmar and after flowing as a trans-boundary river, it finally falls into the Bay of Bengal. The river is having 1-3 kilometer width between the two countries at some places and the depth of the river is having 130 ft. an average depth and highest depth is 400 ft.
Being near to the ocean, the water of the river is salty. Also the water level has an ups and downs based on the high and low tide from the sea. Keeping similarity with the Bay of Bengal, the river has almost same color of the ocean.
Tourists of St. Martin's island are being carried by the ship over the river. During the cruising, you can see lot of boats were floating over the river. Boatmen from the both country use to catch fish on a regular basis.

Balashi Ghat (বালাসী ঘাট) is one of the most beautiful tourist spots of Gaibandha District. It stands beside the bank of Jamuna River and is not very far from Gaibandha Sadar Upazila. At the beginning of 2004, steamers were banned from this place. Although, trawlers & boats are available for traveling. It has built a connection with the southern districts of Jamalpur.
As a result of erosion, everyday many parts of this Ghat are drowning under the river. A huge crowd comes to Balashi Ghat to enjoy its stunning natural beauty.
